GCN Painting the WaveBird Controller

I'm going to be painting my WaveBird controller red using some of the specialized vinyl paint. I've heard good things about it and have seen some impressive results, so I'm pretty confident it will turn out well.

One thing I am worried about, though, is losing the white silk-screened "Nintendo Gamecube" text on the top of the controller (you can see it here). Did anyone ever figure out a way to get that back after painting the controller?

You can't get it back unless you carefully scratch away the paint on it

Or you could cover it with a tape and remove it after painting.
