Hello!

I just wanted to share one of my consoles mods, on this PSP 3001 I've swaped the shell with a full transparent one and modded the battery to use a 2300mAh Xperia Z1 Compact Cell.

The new autonomy jumped from 3h to about 6h of gameplay.

Had to cut some of the internal housing (I've "burned" the plastic with a soldering iron with a flat tip since the melted plastic tends to not leave any pointed parts that could puncture the battery cell).

I've also, or course, removed the MD reader module to open a "flat" surface to lay the battery.

I used the battery board from an original PSP battery, soldered two wires from the two poles on both ends (removed the battery connector of the Z1C from its battery and soldered the wires directly to the battery board)

The new housing refreshed the look of the device and made it unique, at least for me :)

I was thinking in putting some leds on it, but then I changed my mind, its unnecessary, and start to get into my eyes after a while.

Any other mods you guys think I should try? I have plenty parts of phones lying around...

Peace! :)

This is awesome, I love seeing mods like this!

I'm thinking about making something like this on my O3Ds, but I've never found any custom housing for it.

I really would like to get my hands on a OoT limited housing, or even a custom color one, just to refresh it too.

Any tip on where to find custom housings for the old but gold 3Ds? :)

Not offhand. Just the usual ideas, buy a shell off Amazon, AliExpress or someplace and modify it, or 3D print a modified one.

    But it's a dead end

@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

also @BigOnYa im making some progress on my gdevelop project, implemented various mechanics

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

@BigOnYa, although the bullets are a bit buggy

Not to mention this would be a massive pain to pirate

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
