It is (source: I am one), it just got moved to an account upgrades system rather than Patreon https://gbatemp.net/account/upgrades
Some of the additional features with Patreon are rather pointless, in my opinion. Themes? Nobody likes the default XenForo styles; instead the Retro theme is the most interesting. And ads?! Ad-blockers can easily bypass the most misleading ones.

We don't want to split the userbase. But we also need money to keep the site alive, so the Patreon/upgrades thing exists mostly as a way for users to show their love of the site, and get nice cosmetic stuff.

I get that its the staff's job to keep this site up and going; however, only a small portion of the members here have Patron perks and it would be nice if loads more can help out. I do appreciate the work going into this, though.

Using an ad blocker causes the staff to miss out on ad revenue that they use to run and maintain the site, but using a Patron tier that supports ad-free I can avoid them while resting easy knowing that the equivalent revenue is available through my contribution instead.

Other than ad-free I don't make much use of the Patron perks either, but I don't mind because thats not really why I do it. I subscribe to support the site.

Yes, but most of the ads that they put up there are super sketchy. I still do like to support them.

I thought the patreon had finished?
I remember joining patreon but eventually just supporting directly from the site.

While I am not a frequent poster anymore, I often lurk. I have been around the temp for way too long, if I can support a bit I will gladly do so.

I do wonder when we can get new vinyl stickers though. Still have one in my car and the magnets on the fridge, those were pretty neat (the postcards too, they're near my gba games).

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
