Hey, I am looking to wifi with some people... I'd like to raise the level of my crappy sword so it's easier to kill monsters.

I think it's just item trading, though.

Trade item, item gains a level, item becomes stronger and more valuable.

I did it with a load of cheap swords back in the first game and totally broke it.

Nope there are new features in the new game... There are three Wi-Fi features: item exchange, a monster playground and a board game.

Item exchange is just like the one from the first RF. The monster playground raises the affection of whatever monster you send to play with another players. The board game is the cool part... up to 4 players can play and depending on what you land on, your status can go up or down.
