1. What fork do people generally use here? I've always used GX, but am aware that there is RX and TX. Pros and cons of each? I know GX is the oldest.

2. Can someone explain the rendering and filtering mode for me? What is each setting doing? Which should I use to have the most accurate picture on an LCD TV? I have it currently set to unfiltered and TV Mode (to give it the CRT looking effect). I had rendering it set to Original Mode but it made the menu and game switch between progressive scan and interlaced every time I toggled the menu which was annoying.

Thanks.

I have the pending release of NeoCDRX
Yay!!! another forgotten emulator for Wii being relived :D

upgrading someday FCEURX to my liking
FCE Ultra RX... that's a really forgotten emulator of yours... i dream the next version of FCEURX include the same autoboot argument support like Snes9x RX has from 5.0.0.

Thank you so much! That's pretty much what I was looking for in explaining the difference between forks! I appreciate all the work that you developers do on this software so users like me can use my old game hardware to its fullest potential. Really -- I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I tried your fork a while ago but can't remember why I switched back to GX. May have been because the homebrew channel didn't have a forwarder handy and I was too lazy to unplug my HD and manually grab a wad. Haha. But I think I might make the switch since it seems like yours is the most actively developed these days.

In terms of rendering / filtering.... Render is how the image is generated by the emulator and filter is post processing applied on top of that generated image? Do I understand correctly?

Yeah, all of that will be there, including most things that are now a Snes9X RX staple.

Just so you know, the official Github also has forwarders available for Wii and Wii U in every release, in case you use those.

And about your question, yeah, pretty much. Filters tend to be a bit heavy on the CPU, since we don't use any kind of GPU acceleration. The one I particularly use the most is Scanlines 25%.
