Seriously why is this game a 256mb rom? I always thought the biggest size a DS rom could go to was 128mb.
That is exactly what I thought. Maybe they jammed to carts in one to make it.

Nope, 2 gigabits (256 Megabytes) is the maximum limit.

That's why I was surprised to hear they were coming out with the DSi instead of an entirely new handheld. 2 gigabits is terribly constraining in this day and age.

Well, obviously, if there are just a handful of 256MB, and none of them actually fills those 256MB AFAIK, 2 gigabits are not that constraining. The problem is not how much storage the devs have, but how they use it.

Funny hearing about people just learning about 256MB roms just now. I remember back in the days of ASH. I thought most people would know about it by now.

At least it discourages choose-your-own adventures like Metal Gear Solid or any recent Final Fantasy. Filling up games with FMV sucks, if the size limit forces a few developers to actually make quality games instead of trying to get into the film industry the hard way, that's fine by me. Especially considering the DS doesn't have the resolution or horsepower to make FMV look any good anyway.

Have you ever tried ASH? Those FMVs are one of the bests I've ever seen on the DS... and on the PS2 as well lol

FF FMV's on DS all pretty good to me, ASH i don't try it yet, but coming from Sakaguchi maybe the cinematic part is well worked.

Anyway this seem to be a long game, despite the fmv's, i hope so.
