Tears of the Kingdom file extraction

Hello,

I used ryu to extract the romfs data for totk and I was sifting though the game files to come across the model directory.
All the models there are .bfres.mc
I've found tools to extract the .bfres but I dont know how to deal with the .mc
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

you can decompress the .mc files with a mod found on GameBanana, called mc_decompressor.
Just put the "0100F2C0115B6000" folder into the "atmosphere/contents/" folder in the SD Card of your Switch and run TotK. You can also use this mod in an Emulator, just put it into the mod folder. (because of the extraction the loading time of the Game can take up to one Hour)

sadly i coudn't open the extracted .bfres files with toolbox, but maybe you can open it with another program.

(edit: you can now open the extracted .bfres files with the newest version of switch Toolbox, just klick on one of the .bfres files and specify the ROMfs folder location.)
