Hi, I finally bit the bullet and bought a second hand Wii U as a potential replacement/update for my faithful old wii with 1Tb external hdd.

To avoid new firmware being forced upon it I have used the OpenDNS method to block N update servers. This method allowed me to do a full console wipe/reset but I am still unable to set up a user id prior to doing a system update (error 102-2511)

I have had a brief search to find an old firmware repository without success.

The question is: What is the best option for loading backups?

I know there's an IOSU exploit apparently just around the corner but as I'm on a low f/w version it may not be supported. If I let the machine loose on the net I fear that N will force the newest version on me. Which version is the most complete, stable and exploitable and how should I go about installing it? How do I then spoof the version to report online and block further upgrades?

Many thanks to anybody that can help!
