2DS VOLUME IS FIXED (until it isn't)

Hopefully you realize the notch on the internal slider can break off easily (guess why I know after opening a N2DSXL with utmost care).

The O2DS "doorstop" is the easiest of all DS to fix since it lacks a hinge/folding design. All those tricks to turn stripped screws never did anything for me. The only way to reliably get it is drilling off the screw heads, removing the back cover and then turn the rest of the screws with pliers.
New screws and you're set.

I said it to you before. You do not want to hear it. It has been years now. Just fix this thing already, please.

my hands hurt, the side cover is IMPOSSIBLE to put back on rn.
Idk why I even thought reopening it was a good idea.

Also, I just did a little test where I DIDN'T put the plastic volume slider and tried changing it from the internal one and YEP you were right, the volume slider in general is busted AF.

WHY DON'T I JUST BUY A USED 3DS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD I MEAN, DAMN. (this time i will ask them 50000000 times if the system works correctly otherwise i'm not experiencing red 3ds 2: the big sequel.)

By all your descriptions the problems seem fixable.

idk, from my pov, the screws are literal CIRCLES. The only choices i have are A. just buy a new one or B. TEAR THAT 3DS SHELL THE FUCK OFF, fix the things and buy a new shell afterwards ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

edit: i just realized i never tried the superglue method, is it extremely powerful towards circle screws?

try adding some baking soda to the screw, push your screwdriver in to make an indent, then superglue. Will make the baking soda hard and you might have a usable head again.

My personal experience with all tricks for stripped screws is → Of no avail.
They might work better on big screws with enough surface to work with. Pouring superglue into such a small screw (hole) will make it overflow and probably just adhere the screw to the plastic.

Nintendo is completely against do-it-yourself repairs. The Triwing and inverse Torx screws are nothing but a "Keep Out!" sign (so-called security screws should be illegal costing the company a fee three times the selling price per sold unit!)

btw, let's say i get to remove all the screws on the 2DS and get access to everything on the 2DS, how do you replace the internal volume slider...??? Because I even tried cleaning it and nope, it's dead for good. Doesn't do a single thing. ALSO, yes, the notch moves as intended, but it still doesn't do anything in any game/app. Do I have to replace the entire 2DS motherboard? Because if that's the case, i might as well buy a new 2ds.

edit: not a NEW 2ds, i mean a NEWW 2ds.

edit 2: yep i tried everything, that volume is NOT changing. I did some digging and turns out you CAN replace it obviously, but it requires soldering sooo idk about that. Even if i do fix the volume in a magical way, the sleep switch needs replacement too (so does the touch screen because it has input issues on the top right corner.)

I might as well buy another 3ds (but, again, i WILL check it 1000 times, otherwise, return to sender)
also don't tell me about the 3ds again, that one has seen so much liquid, the bottom screen is all f'ed up, it's NOT worth the hassle. That's why i'm not sending you the consoles. I don't want you to have a shitty-ass time with these consoles. This is the last, and i repeat, THE LAST DANN TIME, i reopen this can of worms. If my intrusive thoughts tell me to do it again, I. WIILL. REFUSE.
