EDIT: I figured out what was wrong. My original backup was also the wrong one which would explain why restoring it did not fix wireless.
While not fixable without a backup, this can be prevented when installing. See my post here:
https://gbatemp.net/profile-posts/154500/

Recently I've been testing flashing the prototype DS firmware to retail units and I've found that installing the firmware breaks all wireless communications, as is to be expected (likely due to different proto hardware needed). However, when flashing back the original firmware, you still can't do anything with wireless. The WiFi board, which holds the firmware, seems to be permanently "bricked" as far as connecting to other consoles is concerned.

This includes multi-cart multiplayer, download play, pictochat, and anything else.

What I don't understand it why this problem would remain after flashing back a good firmware. Shouldn't restoring the original firmware completely replace the proto firmware and undo any changes that firmware made? Also what can I try to restore wireless? I've made sure that all the hardware was properly connected and I can say with certainty that the problem is only on the WiFi board.

I can always swap out the bad WiFi board for a new one, but I'd be much happier if I could fix the boards I messed up while testing.

I assume you are using noflashme rather than flashme (which is more of a patching tool) to restore

Have you tried ppflash?

I would also be curious to see what goes for any unique mac addresses and where they are stored in this. I doubt it is some kind of more serious brick but it could be a concern.

I was actually using fwmanager from the following link https://github.com/CTurt/CFW-Suite

I just looked over ppflash and it appears to be for DS phat only. However, I will try flashme and see if that does anything.

@bilibili2011 I tried the build you sent and it did not fix the issues (unless the mega link was for the buggy version?). Also I had to get a friend to compile the first one as I don't know how everything works, and I don't have the storage space for the compiler and everything.

Thanks anyways!

Which one exactly?
X4/40820D, 040615, and X2B.

Currently not sure if X2B bricks wireless, but X4/40820D and 040615 are confirmed to brick it. I'll see about X2B once I order more WiFi cards.

In the mean time I'll start comparing the dumps.

@bilibili2011 compared the two files and there were no differences. I also did a hash check and the hashes matched.

I'm doing good, just made my first drink of the day, so better now, Captain and Coke today. I had to cut grass all day, then get my hair cut. I messed with my wifey, she knew I was going to get hair cut, and I went and bought a purple dyed wig, and came home wearing it, she freaked out, thinking I dyed my hair purple, was funny.

Damn, I haven't been on here in while. My wife and I went on a mushroom trip like 10 years ago. A friend had a PS3TV with the glasses and some racing game. It hit when I was playing the game and I freaked out because I thought I was really driving and crashed.
