Sometimes you have to use the Euro version instead of the USA version. Besides the extra languages, there is barely any difference in most cases, anyway.
I am trying this I have the original CD back from 2002 christmas. When I try to play the European version after the language selection screen the game goes black. Finally found a way to prevent freezes in Digimon World 3 (USA and EUR) when using EBOOTs (PSP).
I don't play much PSP but I found a way after some basic research.
I'll share the setup(s) I used, step by step:
0) PSP 6.61 Pro-C Infinity CFW, use flash pops (the default pops 6.61 comes with).
Also in PRO Recovery Menu: plugins->pops_bridge.prx and plugins->popsloader.prx must be DISABLED.
Also in PRO Recovery Menu: Advanced->Pops Plugin: must be ENABLED
for DW3 NTSC (USA) :
for Digimon World 2003 EUR:
In game-freezes when reloading an area: (that work correctly if you follow the above steps)
#1
Entering the Inn in Asuka City, entering Asuka Sewers and going back to Inn.
#2
Follow #1 then Going to El Dorado / Yellow Cruiser, then going back to Asuka Inn. (freezes always)
Now each part reloads correctly. I can say the game takes a while to load per area (much closer to what DW3 did in PS1).

Actually there is a significant difference. Almost all PAL games of that generation are only 50Hz which means they run around 17% slower than the US version. A lot also have large borders at the top and bottom due to the resolution difference between pal and ntsc.

I can access the PSP pops menu leave the game and reset it but I can't start a new game. I used img burn to create the CD image.
So the solution was to use this guideYeah but in the PSP is barely noticeable. And the fact the PAL games are slower helps the PSP to run them better.
Some games strain the Playstation hardware hence why you have to use the PAL version for the PSP.
For example, using Digimon World 2003 instead of Digimon World 3.
And some games just can't run on the PSP like Discworld Noir.
That's your problem, just download the iso from somewhere online and it should work since the original game has copy protection.
Also don't use the USA version on the PSP since the PSP hardware can't handle it.
I have problems with PSX2PSP... I'm trying to convert Punky Skunk, Breath of Fire III, and Breath of Fire IV to run on my PSP. But, all three games are multi-track games (not multi-disc games).
The music in Punky Skunk doesn't play unless you have more than the first data track. I'm not even going to try to play Breath of Fire III and IV unless I can have both tracks in the PBP EBOOT file so I can play the game properly. I worry about having to use plugins to transfer PSP PS1 saves because I might not be able to continue the games because Breath of Fire III/IV can't access its second data track.
I can't select more than one BIN file for a disc with PSX2PSP or select a CUE file, so I tried to convert the 22 bin files for Punky Skunk into a single BIN file but the game didn't play the music properly, which tells me that it didn't properly combine all the BIN files so that the game can play the music tracks stored on the extra data tracks. I'm not going to try the other games, and I want help on this.
I was trying to use PopStation but an error "Run-time error '76': Path not found" occurs and the program exits when I use the GUI to attempt to create a PBP EBOOT file using the CUE file. Is there any way to fix this?

Hello. For anyone having issues with psx2psp, you can use a program called popstation gui instead.
Yep, that is the newest version of popstation gui. It hasn't had an update in a long time but that's probably because it works fine as is.Hello.
Thank you for this Information.
A great Tool for Converting.
Can you please tell us the latest Release ?
I have Version 3.00 Beta.
Thank you.
The customize Options (Icon and Background) is not so satisfactory for me.Personal I prefer the Icon Display from PSX2PSP.
Please also Note if you have a PAL Game do not use the PAL-NTSC Fix option as suggested from the Application !
The Picture is then moved up.
Is it an audio streaming game (can play the soundtrack in a regular audio cd player)?I have the sound but not the music, is it normal ?
I've already tested my .bin and .cue files of my game with opl on my ps2 by converting in .vcd and my game works fine on opl music included.
Hi friends,
Sorry in advance for my nooby question but I bought a psp 3004 last week (it's the first time I have this system), I've installed CFW 6.61 pro-c inf. and few emulators (fba4psp, mvspsp, cpspsp 1&2, mame4all...etc).
I've tried few psp iso and psn eboots everything works well
But I've tried to make my own Alien Trilogy eboot (PAL version) with psx2psp and everything works fine except the music, I have the sound but not the music, is it normal ?
I've already tested my .bin and .cue files of my game with opl on my ps2 by converting in .vcd and my game works fine on opl music included.
So here is my question, musics are missing with psx2psp converter or did I miss something ?
Thx in advance
Hello.Thanks @Ryccardo , thanks @alexander1970
I've spent five hours to run Alien Trilogy with music but unfortunately I didn't manage to do it...
I've tried to found an other .bin /.cue and an other .img, it still doesn't work...
Most of the things I've found were curious bugs for example the .cue / .bin I've used to convert in .vcd for my ps2 works fine in .vcd with opl on my ps2 but if I burn these .bin / .cue files on a cd-r and launch it on the ps2, the musics are not in the correct order...
Anyway... To comme back to my psp, after I've checked if all the contents in my .bin were the same as the Alcohol's screenshot that Alexander has posted, I've tried to convert my .bin / .cue files without compression, the size is good too but it doesn't work, I've downloaded an other version in .img format, the size is also good (602mb), I've made the same operation and it doesn't work too without compression on psx2psp, the same bug appears, I have a black screen and I need to remove the battery if I want to reboot the psp because if I just turn off/on the console, the black screen is still here without removing battery.
Finally, I've tried to convert my.vcd file (the file I've tested on my ps2 with opl) to an .iso file with MagicISO and same result, I've got a black screen...
So I'm at the same point as yesterday^^ the only thing I know now is my .bin / .cue and my .img works without music if I put the compression to 9 on psx2psp...
Maybe I should try the different compression settings between 0 and 9 on psx2psp to find a solution...
2- You've installed the cdda_enabler plugin on your console (get it from wololo forums, add it to pops.txt)
Did you have PROMOD Custom Firmware (Version 6.61) on your PSP ?
If yes, please HOLD the RIGHT Shoulder Button when you START the EBoot.
Maybe it is a "POPSLOADER" Setting Issue.
My CFW 6.61 PRO-C infinity
I don't know if I have the good firmware but when I press the right shoulder button when I start the Eboot, nothing happens.
I think it's the issue, I've never installed POPSLOADER on my memory stick^^
What a noob I am !
So here my new question does a POPSLOADER version exist for my CFW and where I can grab it ?
Thx in advance
