Tutorial
Hey there, this is a short guide for anyone with a switch that wants to play the updated Balatro patch (or maybe even an older one) on your switch!
Prerequisites:
Addendum: Mod Support [Help Wanted]
I was also looking into if it's possible to load mods using a steammodded verison of the game, because mods work on the mobile port tool when using steammodded but when applied on the switch it leads to a crash. Maybe someone better versed in Lua can investigate this? Only 2 files changed when using steammodded is game.lua and main.lua both within the balatro.exe.
Prerequisites:
- A valid steam copy of Balatro
- A modded Switch
- 7-zip (or any file extractor, but 7-zip is FOSS)
- This guide also assumes you're on Windows
- Buy and download Balatro from Steam.
- Once downloaded, right click Balatro in your library, click on Properties, click Installed Files, then click Browse...
- Once here, you'll see your Balatro folder. Now right click Balatro.exe, hover over 7-zip and click on Open Archive...
- While this 7-zip window is open, create a folder named 0100CD801CE5E000 (Balatro TitleID) anywhere and inside of this folder also create a folder called romFS
- Now, return to the 7-zip window and copy everything from the folder to the romfs folder inside of 0100CD801CE5E000
- Connect to your switch whichever way you prefer (USB, Hekate UMS, FTP) and copy the 0100CD801CE5E000 folder to atmosphere\contents\
- Launch Balatro on your switch and you should now have the same version number at the top left as your steam copy! No need to wait for N's submittion process.
