Hey all!

I am armed with a freshly cleaned ps2 phat
A brand new mcboot card ordered online
The sata hdd converter
A 2TB Toshiba sata desktop hdd

What’s the quickest way to play some ps2 isos?

Do you need to format the drive on the ps2 first?
Best program to write the isos to that hdd? Want to fill up as much of that 2TB as I can.

Appreciate any help!

Good Morning.:)

What’s the quickest way to play some ps2 isos?

Easy and Quick:

- Please connect the HDD to your PC please
- Download Windows HDL Image Install Program v1.7.6 (WinHIIP)
- Start the Tool as Admin please (Windows 7 / 10 / 11)
- Initialize / prepare the HDD for the PlayStation 2 please
- Get Original Game Discs / ISO´s / Backupped Game Discs
- Transfer the Games to the HDD please
- Disconnect the HDD for your PC and put it with the SATA Adapter into your PlayStation 2
- Boot into PlayStation 2 Open PS2 Loader (OPL)
(This should be already installed / configured on the FMCB Memory Card).
- Enjoy your Games please

Quick and Easy.:)

There are many other Ways,if you like and maybe want to know.
Thank,you.:)

Perfect!!! How do you transfer the isos to the HDD? Just copy over to the root or is there a program to do it?

What do I use to launch them on the ps2?

Thank you!!

Great! I heard that that tool has a game number limit on it? Is that true? Like you can’t exceed a certain number of games?
IMPORTANT: keep in mind that the largest size HDD that you can use on the PS2 console is 2TB -- anything larger will simply not work. Plus there is also a known issue with WINHIIP. You can only transfer up to 255 (PS2) Games. After that, there is a known trick to workaround it, but it's best to start using a different transfer application than WINHIIP.

Ok so finally got around to doing this! Unfortunately NOTHING worked.

So Its a 2TB hdd and it seems WinHIIP cant format 2tb hdds. Gives an error.
So I formatted it just fine with uLaunchelf.
Then went back into WinHIIP and got an "there is a memory allocation error" when selecting the HDD
Seems like a common problem and internet says WinHIIP is old, outdated and should not be used.

Whats the best way to transfer games onto the PS2 HDD via pc?

Thanks!

** figured most of it out. moral of the story, do NOT use WinHIIP. Its depreciated and doesnt really work with anything modern at all, especially 2TB hdds!
