Farewell GBATemp: A Departure Amidst Ethical Crossroads

Dear GBATemp Community,

It is with a mix of sorrow and resolve that I write to you today. After much contemplation and reflection, I have decided to bid farewell to the community that has been a significant part of my life for years. This decision, while difficult, has been catalyzed by recent events, particularly the concerning developments surrounding artificial intelligence, which have left me questioning the ethical stance of our community's leadership.

GBATemp has long served as a bastion for gaming enthusiasts, a place where we could gather to share our passions, discoveries, and insights. Together, we've explored the frontiers of homebrew, emulation, and gaming innovation. Yet, as our community evolved, so did the challenges we faced, and recent advancements in AI have forced me to confront uncomfortable truths about the direction we're headed.

The rapid rise of artificial intelligence brings with it incredible potential, but also profound risks. In the quest for progress and efficiency, we must not lose sight of the ethical considerations at play. Unfortunately, it appears that the administrators of GBATemp have turned a blind eye to these concerns, as evidenced by the deployment of a potentially dangerous AI onto our user base.

This reckless decision to unleash such a powerful tool without adequate safeguards or transparency is deeply troubling. It not only jeopardizes the integrity of our community but also poses significant risks to the safety and privacy of its members. As someone who cares deeply about the well-being of this community, I can no longer in good conscience continue to be a part of a platform that prioritizes technological advancement over ethical responsibility.

My departure from GBATemp is not a retreat, but rather a stand for the values that I hold dear. I refuse to be complicit in a system that prioritizes innovation at the expense of ethics. It is my hope that my decision will serve as a wake-up call to the administrators and prompt them to reevaluate their priorities and take meaningful action to address the ethical implications of AI deployment.

To my fellow members of GBATemp, I extend my deepest gratitude for the friendships forged, the knowledge shared, and the memories created. Though our paths may diverge, know that I will carry with me the fond memories of our time together and the hope for a future where technology and ethics can coexist harmoniously.

Farewell, GBATemp. May we meet again in a space where integrity and responsibility guide our actions.

With heartfelt sincerity,

I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
