Seems to be going well.
A lot of the academy text have been translated.

That's good oh my that must've been slave work at that point if all the files have been translated well not all but like almost all.

About the Game:
Nope, this is not Style Savvy, more like a mature take on Style Savvy (at least, that's what I think ).
You got fashion items like in SS, but from what it looks like, I think there's a dating mode. So, it's basically Style Savvy, but with dating.
This game has high-quality graphics and sound that pushes the NDS to it's limits, and even the 3DS version looks great!

About this Patch:
This patch will translate most of the graphics (Title Screen, My Room, Dresser, etc.), as well as a few dialogue, to English.
This was made back in August of 2015, so I thought I'd show it off here, as well as work on it more, years later.
As of currently, @MooshyPon and Iku are working on the translation.
An AP patch is built-in to the translation patch, so it'll also work with flashcard kernels that don't contain built-in AP patching, as well as nds-bootstrap (the backend of TWiLight Menu++).

DS Version
Requires one of these

• a DS emulator
• a DS console with a flashcard (such as R4(i), DSTT(i), Acekard 2(i), etc.)
• or a DSi/3DS/2DS with the TWiLight Menu++ GUI installed (nds-bootstrap (included) itself, runs the game)

Use the included DeltaPatcherLite to apply the patch to a clean un-patched ROM.

3DS Version
Requires one of these

• a 3DS or 2DS with Luma CFW
• or Citra, a 3DS emulator

Luma

1. Put the "0004000000071D00" folder in "sd:/luma/titles/".
2. Enable game patching in the Luma config menu.

Citra

1. In the game list, right-click on FabStyle.
2. Click "Open Mods Location".
3. In the FabStyle English 7z file, go into "0004000000071D00".
4. Drag the "romfs" folder to the opened mod location.

• Tinke and ndstool (via dslazy): Graphics extraction and ROM unpacking/repacking.
• GIMP: Graphics editing.
• HxD: DS banner editing, with adding animation sequence, and calculating CRC16.
• Tile Layer Pro: Editing/adding DS banner icon frames.
• DS-Scene ROM Tool: AP-patching the original JP DS ROM.
• FabStyle-Msg-Tool: Extracting the text files.
• Kuriimu's Kukkii: Extracting the 3DS version's graphics.
• Every File Explorer: Extracting the 3DS version's title screen graphics.

• Me: The graphics translation, splash screen, and some text file translation.

• @retrogamefan: AP-patch released on December 2018, used in v1.3 and later.

Yo do you got any news for this game translation or did it die?? cause i joined the discord server and everything is empty..nothing at all but the person stating they made a separate discord for progress reports...which they should've honestly kept it in the same server instead of doing that.

I actually went to check by asking and the one who created the discord stated that yes there working on it and that they will be posting WIPS on one of the discord category things on the chat for people can know about what's been happening.

yeah i believe the project may be dead, the one who's been working on it - hasn't even done what they stated on the discord chat at all :/..he was supposed to add a topic in which people can view the progression for the mod..but he didn't do it instead just left the entire discord chat and hasn't even stated anything to keep anyone on that place up to date if anything is going on.

at this point it's possibly canceled from the looks of it?..i don't know but it just seems that way.
if you know anything at all do hit me up, cause i already tried checking in but it's like a ghost town x.x"

The #files-sharing-and-progression channel contains the translation progress, but if it's not shown for you, then it's private to the staff.
It seems somewhat a half number of text files have been translated.

yeah i can't see it, - ooh okay that's good, i hope everything is going well and they're aren't facing any issues..another thing i was gonna recommend them something great that i found out :3 soo yandex translator has this feature in which you can translate images, not just only that, it can open the text file off of the image - basically dump the translation that yandex picked up off of the image itself <3 soooo that means that any japanese text files that yandex image translator doesn't translate well you can just copy it once you choose the option to 'open as text'.

you can even use deepl to translate the japanese text much smoother that way - it helped the crap out of me with the game model debut #nicole 2 on the switch - couldn't pass a certain mission that i had to find out late that yandex updated their page like this lol.

So I spoke to Mooshy about the supposed topic, and said that he referring to the #faq channel, for questions about when it'll be released or something else. (I dunno if he spoke to you about it as well though.)

To you and the others reading, I want to assure you all that the FabStyle English translation isn't dead.
Once again, if you have questions or just want to chat, you can join the Discord server linked in the first post.
These days, I contribute improvements to both TWiLight Menu++ & nds-bootstrap (the latter of which can run this), and I'll contribute to this project now and then as well (but maybe not translations, lol).

I've tried it out on Citra. It's great so far. But having to give the names like the last name and first name for example is hard. But my main problem is the movie clips in the game. It's really slow and hard to watch and play through it and is disturbing. How do you guys get through this? I mean is there any way to watch them without them being slow?

To improve the speed, you'll need a faster CPU processor and/or faster GPU.

You buy them online to replace the current one(s) inside the computer case.
If you're using a laptop though, then that's another story.

You could try the DS version of the translation instead.

Yes. You can use a Mobiclip video decoder to play them (assuming the game uses .moflex files).

Use Citra to dump the RomFS of the game, in order to access the video files.
After dumping, find the video, and (afaik) drag it into the MoflexDecoder .exe file.
