Best response to a "pixelart is bad" comment xD

I was doing some 2D pixel art / CRT research again, and I came across this post on a neogeo forum:

As a developer I get that, hahaha. I am no artist either. But the astetic of pixelart feels nostalgic, and now I am almost 42...I have nostalgia a lot lately! :rofl2:

I am amazed by how the artists of the day worked around hardware and display limitations to create good looking images. at least, on a good CRT(or filter/shader).

Sonic is a good example of this on the genesis. The waterfall effect is just alternating blue coloured dots. Rotating the palete colours makes the water apear to move...and by using alternating lines and the bluryness of CRT's and NTSC the effect is that it looks like transparent water!

There are more examples....like how a blob of pixels...becomes a creature or face.


But creating my own? I wish!! Hahaha (there is a reason I did a remake of a 2D game, and not an original ;) )

It's doable if you put in enough time but when I look at something like Super Metroid I doan know how many people you'd need to do that much art

    There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.

    But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".

    Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
