I discovered the summercart64 earlier this year. It's an opensource N64 Rom Cart that's apparently been available for over a year. it's amazing. and cheap. and opensource.

I also just recently came across the "Super DMG", which is a custom PCB. You just solder a gameboy or super gameboy cpu onto it (and a few other components) and you've got a high quality gameboy. It's a lot of fun, especially if part of your original gameboy have died.

So what other gems are out there? Any romcarts or console modernization project you're a particular fan of? Any projects you've had an eye on lately? I'll update this post with a list of everyone who wants to share cool upcoming/available projects.

Oh, right, there's also the Pixel FX team and their "retro g.e.m.".

https://www.pixelfx.co/

They're taking a "potential upgrade" route, and trying to make an hdmi mod that'll work for every consoles. with hardware updates in the future, you won't have to resolder, just replace cables. I haven't personally tried them though, but I like the idea of not having to deal with yet another hdmi mod popping up for 6 months then never being available again.

Memcard pro series from 8bitmods.

https://8bitmods.com/

Just amazing. Easy backups, wifi access to the card, gameid support (makes a memory card for every game and autoselects so you don't have to find your save for X game, ps2 one can be used a ps1 card and ps2 card. Have the ps2 one, have the gamecube one on pre-order and hope they make a Dreamcast one.

Makes me wonder if a DMG CPU can be put into a SGB and work, just with a longer load time due to the BIOS logo dropping down.

When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
