Readme:

Attention! Please NEVER UPDATE your console before you update your AK2i! Or you could CAN NOT run your AK2i!
This update support 3DS3.0 and DSi1.4.3. Please refer to readme file in the package.
Please choose update file according to your console. If you're using DSi or DSXL or 3DS please use ak2ifw_update_3ds30_DSi143_onDSi_and_DSXL_and3DS.nds to update. I f you're using DSL or DSPhat please use ak2ifw_update_3ds30_DSi143_onDSL.nds to update.
Just follow the instructions after you run the update file.
1. Copy the correct update file to the root of your MicroSD card.
2. If you're using ak2ifw_update_3ds30_DSi143_onDSL.nds on your DSphat or DSL, please eject your AK2i and reinsert it after the update program is running. Then press B, then press START key to finish update.
3. If you're using ak2ifw_update_3ds30_DSi143_onDSi_and_DSXL_and3DS.nds on your DSi or DSXL or 3DS, please press START key to finish update.
This update file DO NOT support AK2i which HWID is '44' temporarily. You can find your HWID of AK2i by selecting "help" after pressing START in AK2i menu. AK2i which HWID is '44' only exsit in the cards sold before Feb. 2009.

For me this upgrade works with DSL only. DSi version just freezes XL and 3DS with no affect to exploit.
Please report your observations.

Try to run the update within a folder, that solved my problem with it, meaning don't have the file in the root of the SD card

Works for me, DSL updated, previously had 3DS with Mario 3D Land update and Wifi Video recording update, but works on 3DS too. HWID 81

Eh, still kinda new to the workings of the Acekard, so forgive my ignorance. But will this update allow me to use my card (with AKAIO, of course) after doing the mandatory update associated with Super Mario 3D Land. I'd really like to play the game, but I'm holding off until I know something for sure. Or is that type of fix strictly something that has to come from the Acekard team?

Think of it like this:

AKAIO = Windows/OSX/Linux running on a computer. Update Windows/OSX/Linux and you can play more games
Nintendo DSi/3DS Updates = The basic thing that allows Windows/OSX/Linux to boot up

When Nintendo updates the basic thing that allows AKAIO to run, The Acekard team has to fix it at the basic level
When a DS game comes out that doesn't run, AKAIO team has to fix it at the software level

In other words, AceKard makes AKAIO loadable on the DSi/3DS and AKAIO makes games load.

Wouldn't it have been easier and faster to just say Acekard updates the bootstrap while AKAIO updates the software?

I know...... I know...... It's probably been answered 100 times before but I just can't find it anywhere.... I have purchased two new 3DS's for Christmas which are both on v1 firmware. I have 2 Acekard 2i's and just want to double check the process.
1 - Download the ak2ifw_update_3ds3.0_DSi143 file from the Acekard site and put onto the root of the sd card.
2 - Run the update on the 3DS
3 - Go into the settings on the 3DS and now update the 3DS firmware from v1 to v3

Is this the correct procedure........
