Am I missing something or do reddit avatars cost money?

I really don't give a shit about them at all especially on there, but I just signed up for a new account and they gave me a damn pink one. I'm trying to change it I see store option where all of them cost money then I tried edit and it said something about premium, then there's create and it says something about blockchain wallet. Is this a joke or is there a way to just easily change it to another lame avatar that's not pink?
