i got into a fight with my mom about me playing video games way to much, i mean, is 3 hours of video games a day alot? and well she really pissed me off, she ruthlessly slapped me and well i was prepared to walk out of the house. It wasn't just because of the video games but also cause of some perosnla stuff. and well she took my dsi, and my sister got it back for me. and i smashed it into rumble out of my anger. i was so mad that i got mad. and now i dont have it. i had some sort of bond with that, i used to use it all the time, i abused it to the max, i mean i used it to its fullest and it was still working, even though i got it on release date. i dont even think it can be fixed.. its done for. but i guess il have to wait for the 3ds( not sure if i'll actually get it) or il just buy a used dsi off of someone. just wanted to vent that out.

it wasnt mostly about the video games, there were other reason such as mybehaviour at home.

and yeh thats true, but i guess i couldnt control myself, i dotn think ive ever gotten that angry and i took it out on the poor little thing.

My parents are awesome

They don't limit my video-games by time, they limit it by balance.
The only limit is: My study time = 1/2 my game time.
Meaning if I study 2 hours, I can play 4 hours.
I study 5 hours (which is typical), I can play 10 hours

In my opinion what they do is correct. Balance > Time limit.
There shouldn't be a limit of how much you video game, as long as you're not missing out on anything else. See the logic here?
Anyway, I wouldn't advise you start the habit of smashing when you're angry, because that'll make you even angrier.
Trust me.
When you're mad, just sit, relax and do something else that pleases you other than video-games (the cause of the problem). I mean like, grab a manga or something. Very good stress relief

it was crazy of me to smash it. and @ Martin, i think you shoudl slap me. i didnt something really supid, and well i depending on the feedback of 3ds users when it is released il buy it, otherwise no. ide rather stick to the dsi though

my parents, hmmm. Well they limited tv to two hours a day(yes the tv was plugged into a timer).
Any console based video gaming was limited to those two hours or what was left after watching stuff. So I generally got to play about an hour a day. Was also limited in no more than five days a week for playing. I managed to hide having a gbc for about a year (even from my brother, looks like I am reading but I was actually playing). They found out though when I got sick and left it on the bed. It was sold the next day. I still managed to play over 900 hours on the nes with dragon warrior 3. but over x number of years. I had work to do - homework and housework. When that work was done then maybe. (shaking my head). My mom would say "you don't have enough to do then... eh"
when I quite dumbly let her know that I could now finish my work and still have enough time to get bored... (I was twelve). She immediatly got me a job as a farmhand withn a guy down the street. she still expected that work to get done even though I wouldn't get home til 10 p.m. (which meant trading chores with my brother and cooking dinner before I left for school in the morning).

Do you have to clean the house up(not just your room, everything)?
Do you have to everyone's laundry?
Do you have a job?
Do you cook for your family?

If you don't these are all things you are going to need to know how to do. If you get good enough at it maybe you will have enough spare time to play. but I doubt it you sound like the type who will complain while doing things as slowly as possible. hoping that someone else will do it for you.
For me there was no one else to do it. My brother did try that though (man for a smart guy he can be stupid about some things).

My point:
You get to bitch about having time to play... not about how you don't get to play as you are doing to much other stuff.

Beware, I sense impending "Stuff" being given to you to do.

My gosh complaining about having three hours a day to play video games. Yeah, I'm envious.
