hi

I have a stupid problem

I bought a infectus2. I want to flashing my Wii nand.
so I tried to connect to my PC. before soldering to the Wii NAND

now My problem:
If I do not connect to the NAND, PC will not be able to find Infectus do?

Because I tried many ways. But the PC and InfectusNANDFlasher_v103 still can not find the infectus

First
1. installed the Driver_3.1 from infectus.biz downloaded
2. connect the infectus to my PC
3. PC and InfectusNANDFlasher_v103 can not find the infectus

Second
1. I changed BIOS setting to disable USB2.0
disable legacy usb support
2. installed the Driver_3.1 from infectus.biz downloaded
3. PC can not find the infectus

I'm on Windows XP SP2

Thanks in Advance

I know this issue should be raised in the infectus forum. But I was not given any answer in There

I have just do a bat to prepare nand.bin, in case someone want to test it:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U3J2CN2I

I will, thanks.

Can u explain what it does, what is the preparation before doing the bat.

-Just need to install in that orther: (links on word document)
Python
Crypto
Numpy
-Unrar pack on C:\betwiin
-On C:\betwiin\nand1.bin a copy of a source wii
-On C:\betwiin\nand2.bin a copy of your bricked wii (target)
-Now run "Auto nand.bat"
-After 30min aprox you will have the final nand.bin on c:\betwiin\output\nand.bin

I know this problem, it's the damn Infectus and the driver.

Also i know there is no support from the Infectus team.

What you can try:
Use another computer with another USB controller. I found out older computers are more compatible.
Use another driver, possible a old one work for you.

For the first start it's required the Infectus software find the Infectus chip because only with this software can setup the Infectus as a NAND programmer!

After this you can try other software.

Possible you can setup the Infectus chip on a computer from a friend and then try your computer.

Let me quote the readme of betwiin:

QUOTE said:
1) The version of boot1 you flash to a NAND chip must match the
original one that shipped with that Wii. No exceptions.

I think that's your problem.

QUOTEWhat do i do next!!!!!!
Use another dump from an Wii where bootmii is installed.

Edit:
Btw, today i get the tools i need to fix my solder problem.
I'm sure tomorrow it's possible for me to tell you more about this ^^.

If you can wait it could be possible for me to release a "Patch-Tool" that insert bootmii to every NAND.

Sorry if i need some days to do this, but - and this is no joke - i'm a newbie.
I get my first Wii on the registration date @ gbatemp and it was the 19-June-2009.

It's hard for me to understand all this, but i give my best to help.

Regards,
HB

Hey, did you ever make that Patch-Tool?

I'm having trouble before I even used the application. He said you have to have Numby and Pycrypto for Betwiin to work, but they won't install. I installed Python already, but when I try the Numby and Pycrypto they keep saying "Python not found in registry" when it is surely installed.

Hi! I tried to unbrick 2 Wiis but the result wasn't the expected. That's what I did:

- Both bricked Wiis can run Bootmii to dump the nand, so I did it.
- Both have boot1b. One have boot2v2 and another have boot2v3.
- I also have 2 nand backups from two other working Wiis, both boot1b. Like the bricked ones, one have boot2v2 and another have boot2v3.
- Extracted hmac and key from the Bootmii generated nands of the bricks, as described on post #54.
- Installed python, PyCrypto, numpy as described at post #103. Also installed OpenSSH, as noted at http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Betwiin .
- Downloaded and unpacked betwiin.
- Put nand-hmac and nand-key of the bricked wii in the output folder.
- Put nand-hmac and nand-key of the working wii in the input folder.
- Removed the last 1KB from the nand of the working wii (the hmac + key area), so betwiin can accept the nand.
- Put the nand of the working wii in the input folder.
- Executed betwiin.
- 40 minutes later it finished without errors.
- Put the last 1KB from the bricked nand at the end of the generated nand at the output folder.
- Tried to write the generated nand using Bootmii.
- With one of the Wiis (the boot2v2 one), Bootmii said boot1 mismatch, as shown in post #103. Like described, I replaced the first 1MB of the generated nand with the first 1MB of the bricked nand, - and then Bootmii accepted the generated nand.
- Simulation was ok. Writing was ok.
- Reseted Wii.
- In Bootmii again, tried to enter Homebrew Channel (to install it).
- The disclaimer screen shows up, but hangs there.
- After about 1 or 2 minutes, the "Press 1 to continue" message shows up (and the message doesn't blink), but nothing happens if I press any button (using a GC controller). It just stay that way, no matter what I do:

wiihang.jpg

I also tried to replace the first 1MB of the nand for the boot2v2 nand and the same happends.
I also tried to put the nand-hmac and nand-key of the bricked wii in the input folder, but betwiin hangs using all RAM of my PC and can't finish.

Can anyone point what I made wrong, or something else I could try to do?
Thanks for any help!

In case to replace first 1.048.576Bytes form output\flash.bin for first 1.048.576Bytes from "destiny/bricked" dump and add the last 1024bytes... now dont give boot1 error message, however if you try to load that flash.bin (nand.bin) with "wii nand extractor", it cant read that file... for instance i asume something its wrong on that process. Moreover, that may be the reason of a bad flash.

What do you thing about?

Edit: Has anyone test to read the final nand.bin with "wii nand extractor"? I cant get any succed

hi all

i have a question before i shell out for an infectus chip. I was performing a wii update off a backup which im 99% sure is the same region as my wii console, during the update the wii crashed and now the console has no aydio/visual output.

when turned on the drive spins and the lights come on but absolutly no output (tried new cables/different tv). If i turn on the console and insert a disk it doesnt spin but if i turn the console on with a disk in it spins.

Im guessing my NAND is corrupt??? and could i fix this issue with infectus and a reflash?

thanks for any help

Ok. "Auto Nand.bat" Its supposed to work, or at least do what we have to do by hand.

In case someone what to try it

Auto Nand

Thanks, but I dont read Italian !

It said in dos (cannot read file). But after that, it creates the file !

xD its not italian, its spanish looks simillar sometimes

Well sorry... xD

There is a file called "tutorial"
You need two dumps, one called nand1.bin (source) and another called nand2.bin (target)
Put it together into betwiin uncompresed folder and then run "Auto Nand.bin"
