Hey there,

I've been researching how to, followed tutorials and what not, edited the ROM using an hex editor, but no matter what I do, the game loads to a blank screen.
Now, I assume I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot understand what. I suspect that I'm not editing the hex code correctly.

Can someone please help me? I've been in trial and error mode for about a week.

well does your rom have the same exact name of the ini you are editing?

did you edit the ini also instead of just hex editing the title id?

no wii n64 emulator runs this game, it runs preety well injected.

I'd love to play this game again. Haven't played it since I was a kid. Even overclocking won't run Castlevania in an emulator?

lol no becuase the game only runs in intrepreter mode and even overclock makes it not be full speed but like i said it works preety well if you do a correct wiiu vc inject on n64 you just need to follow the steps.

1 get a base rom the last one f zero x is probably the best overall one for every inject
2 use an hex editor like hxd and edit the title id to be like castlevania legacy of darkness title id
3 modify the fzero-x ini and place the correct ini settings which should be this ones
;DRACULA MOKUSHIROKU2 US
[RomOption]
;BackupType 0 Auto 1 SRAM 2 Flash 3 EEPROM
BackupType = 3
;BackupSize 2048 16K 4K 512
BackupSize = 2048
TrueBoot = 0
UseTimer = 0
RetraceByVsync = 1
MemPak = 1

4- repack it and install it with wup installer
5- profit

I've been using the Majora's Mask ROM, I've been editing.
I've edited the hex of the Castlevania ROM itself to match what Legacy of Darkness has as the title and 4 character Id.
I used the Legacy of Darkness .ini file as is.
I've tried with more than one injector, but I'm currently using UWUVCI AIO, since that one seems to output the best results.

I think the main issue is this. I need to edit the hex of what into what exactly?

Nevermind! Just got it to work. Used F-Zero X like you said, edited F-Zero's ini and uploaded that.

By the way, do you happen to know how to inject Metal Gear 2 for the MSX?

    @BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example

    And I also have my ps3

    Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"

    If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

    For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
