Any fan games you've played recently or in the past that you absolutely love? I just recently played a fan game of Kemono Friends called Mega Serval and loved everything about it, I'm hoping more people get to know more about the game, here's a track I absolutely adore from the game.

I've played and dabbled with A LOT of Sonic fan games, but something recent was a new "combat beta" for the long running Sonic vs Darkness one. As someone also into making fan games themselves, there's the high quality presentation of it all and wondering "oh how did they do this" and "I wonder if I could do this too."

Also just appreciate more fan games that are a bit more experimental.

That look pretty good,it's supposed to be a mashup of a platformer/ beat em up? The only thing that's missing imo is the impact of the hits, other than that it looks like a swell time.

From what I know and assume, there's Sonic, who focuses on gameplay like Unleashed's day time stages, and Shadow, who is supposed to be the same game's beat 'em up sections. So what's shown is just (probably) half of the gameplay style.

It appeals to me as just more variety in fan game space but I also hear good things about Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit. Enough to have even had an article on here, anyway.

Well part of that could be because Flash doesn't exist anymore. But people just want to make actual games and not Cool Things Mashed Together (or other things that haven't aged particularly well). Though I think the creator, BlackDevilX, is still working on something? I don't remember and he doesn't have the most active presence. But the spirit is technically alive.

I played through newer super mario bros wii shortly after release, but went through it again last year.
It's not a first place by miles, but it's still the best 2D Mario game, imho. :)

Not going to lie, the shadow parts interest me the most, any other noteworthy games you've played?
Another one I'm particularly fond of is Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, which is a mash up of multiple games into one, it sounds like a mess but surprisingly works well.

I remember playing it in a very crappy computer, waiting ages for it to load, just to end up crashing lmao.
