Hacking Gateway 3DS 3.7 beta - Latest emunand (10.3) support for New 3DS

I, for one, really am not "in it for piracy", but I would be lying if I said that I haven't pirated something before. I do have exactly 5 downloaded game CIAs installed on my 3DS: two to try out the games, which I have not played in at least 6 months, another one is for a similar reason, although it's a remake of a game I already own three times in different formats, one is a different language version of a game I do own, which is for research purposes, and one is a leaked prototype of a game I do own the retail version of.

My main reason for having hacked my 3DS is basically to have more control over the system, for messing around with homebrew (including, yes, emulators) and for messing around with specific games and their innards and save data. Piracy is a side effect that's not all that tempting to me personally, and that I wouldn't miss if it did not exist.

Roms used by emulators are also piracy (even if you own the original game, except if you dump it yourself I guess), especially when some of those games are sold on the eshop as Virtual Consoles games

And even for 3DS retail games, owning another version (language) of the game doesn't give the right to download another version.

I understand you point and see you what mean, but basically, it's still piracy. I have like 50 original retail 3DS games but still, as I have a few (japanese) games installed as .cia on my N3DS, it mean I'm into piracy (even for the games I originally have on cart as I haven't dumped them myself but just downloaded .cia version of them because it's faster), even if I bought Gateway because it could play japanese games.

One of the feature i would LOVE on my GW is the DS games enabled directly on Emunand. Not with their (bad bad) blue cart.

What's wrong with the blue card besides not working on newer firmware without a workaround?

I've wanted 10.3 emunand support for some time, glad to finally have it. Putting badges on folders is what I've wanted most, but it's also nice to have eShop access back without resorting to a Franken-firmware.

Plus improvements to the cheat engine are always welcome, that's proving to be a really nice feature.

It'd be incredible to have DS games lined up in the home menu as CIAs so you don't have to switch on and off the 3DS in order to play a DS game or a 3DS game.
For that to happen though, we'd need to rewrite TWL from scratch, so that it doesn't hard reboot the console. The DS "Virtualbox" would need to be bootable from emuNAND.

As a point of reference, I own an o3DS, two n3ds XLs, and a n3ds (JP import) (Also a DSTwo+, though I only use it as a DS flashcard). I can certainly afford a Gateway, I just don't want one.

I don't care to pirate games, so .3DS support is useless. Cheats are... Can't really say they're bad, I have no opinion on this unless you cheat online. Everything else is managed just fine on CFW.

EDIT: I do love how you reiterate how big a thing .3DS support is. You could, you know, buy your games every once in a while.

I recently followed the guide on how to spoof eShop on 9.5, will the two .cia's that required installation be a problem or can I just go ahead and replace the Launcher and update? Nothing else to do?

Also, I read that NTR on top oF GW 10.3 won't work, is it best to wait? Because I really need NTR for translation patches. Thanks.

I'm still getting an error when launching eShop without FMP, the same as before when I had tiger/nver updated to the latest, but it seems to be working fine for other people who had the same setup, so YMMV.
