I just got a DS in almost perfect condition except for one problem; the digitizer. It is heavily scratched. What do I do? :wtf:
(It looks worse than in the photo)

I'm fine with that, but do you have any methods to clean it that I could try before replacing it?
You could attempt to buff the scratches out with a plastic polish, not sure how effective or potentially destructive that would be though. You'd want to do some research first.

It may need to be replaced.
This.

The touchpanel is finished. Good thing is: Cheap spare part. Look up a guide on ifixit.com – working on DS consoles isn't pleasant but doable. Please apply a screen protector after replacement: The weak, soft plastic of a resistive touchscreen is prone to scratches. One playthrough of Kirby Mass attack and it will look awful again. A foil is easier to replace than the panel.

Good luck and have fun!
