Could someone explain me if and how it's possible to change the color palette for GB games from grey (GB Pocket) to green (DMG-001)? Lameboy uses this palette but has less compatible games, and I can't stand and get used to the sadly grey one typical of GBP.

Thanks.

I put the gbc_bios.bin file in the roms folder (rompath=/gameboy/ already specified in the .ini file) but the logo doesn't start.
I specified in the gameyobds.ini file the path (biosfile=/gameboy/) and it still doesn't start. The emulator can't find it. How come?

Edit: I also tried typing: "biosfile=gbc_bios.bin"
but with the same, disappointing result.

P.S. Is it possible that there is an issue regarding the latest available version of Gameyob? In its specific thread the author talks about gameyob.ini, while in my flashcart the file created is gameyobds.ini. Can this be the reason for the problem?

By 'the logo doesn't starts', you mean it gets frozen in a white screen and nothing happens, or it just goes straight into the game?

I have a gameyobds.ini file at the root of the SD card and it works correctly. In my case I didn't modified it, so just putting the right bootrom dump ('gbc_bios.bin') into the folder where I'm booting the games is enough.

Though, I saw the bios isn't detected if you're booting your DMG/CGB games via TWiLight Menu++, since the app copies the game to a different folder to run it, and there's clearly no bootrom dump in that folder. At least on DSi.

Thank you for replying.
I use r4 Gold Pro with YSMenu on DS Lite. When I select a rom, it starts right away without the logo appearing; then I load another rom and the same thing happens. The BIOS is the right one, and it's in the roms folder. Incomprehensible...

P.S. I must specify that the roms are in the "gameboy" folder (as well as the BIOS), but those are in subfolders divided by letter: can this be the source of the problem? Does the BIOS have to be necessarily next to the roms?

I have the same exact card with YSMenu, and booting GB/GBC games with the bootrom works fine. I would tell you to get the bootrom from a different source, it might be corrupted. And delete your current .ini file so it automatically creates the default one. Maybe it works that way :D

Please. It would be so Nice If someone did this. And released an unofficial version. I know it is possible. I have read it on the other Gameyob thread.

Best regards/ Matt

If you need something greenish... see attached file. Not a DMG-001 exact copy but better than B&W IMHO.

How does the palette code work? I've been trying to figure it out but I'm not sure. it only seems to do 1 - 32 integers so im not sure

Sorry for bumping.
But just like @Nikokaro I was wondering if there was a version of GameYob with Green Palette for a more natural Game Boy experience.
Looks like great minds thinks alike (;))
Anyway, I'm excited to find this, and I'm happy to have found this new GameYob version.

Came here to ask one question:
How do I save settings? Do I have a special ini file? A route?

Because it says: Failed to save settings.

Nothing major, just wondering how to fix this.

Oh, alright. Managed to understand the _nds folder.

I personally don't use TWiiLight Menu++ or anything like that, so that seems a bit arbitrary. But anyway.

For people using a "Game Boy Macro", create a folder in your SD's root called "_nds" and your GameYob Mavica settings will get saved.

Have you figured out the Max RGB value for a color?
I keep getting wrong values when using 0-255 values.
Here I'm using 100+ RGB values and colors are off in "DMG4, DMG5, Light"

EDIT: Is the RGB values range from 0 to 32 only?

Try this Color Palette that I just made: DMG2=22,48,02,18,43,10,14,38,11,09,32,13

I thought about uploading that, but I decided against because I have my own settup and might mess with other people's.

So, for now just open your gameyob.ini (open with Notepad) and copypaste my DMG2 code.

I'll upload more later if requested.

Any idea how I can create a custom palette?
When I try to put rgb numbers on paint it shows a different color

No idea.
It seems HEX numbers can't go past 32 or 61, don't remember.

I really don't understand how's the HEX values handled, it always brings the wrong colors.

Hello, by using some maths calculations (la regla de tres a.k.a Cross-multiplication)
I try to make working the 3DS VC palette on Gameyob and it works

3DSVC=25,25,21,20,20,17,13,13,10,5,5,3

about the values I used were these

31 (Gameyob Max Value) 255 (Paint RGB Max Value)

X (Unknown Value) 206 (our Custom Value)

The operation will be like this: 206 × 31 ÷ 255 = 25,04

if the decima (in this case is the 0) is below to 5 the number will stay as 25, but if is above to 5, the number will have +1 unit (26 in this case)
