Believe it or not, they think you are stupid because similar rubbish has been used successfully before. Think about the people sheltered and not desensitized (a rarity, I know) like we all are... They don't have to go to great lengths to hone their craft because quite frankly if you send your spam to a million or so people, just getting a handful to bite is all you need... Firing a shotgun at the sea from an airplane hoping to kill a couple fish doesn't exactly require precise strategy now does it? It might be harder these days but it is certainly not impossible. No matter how much any of us write all this off as more information babble that we see every time we look at anything on our computers, as long as Joe Sixpack is sitting there and thinks there is a shred of truth to spam like that they really have no reason to change whatsoever.
