This is what we in the business call an "extra part" you see big time manufactures put these extra parts in their consoles so that they meet a certain criteria put on them from big part companies to put parts in that serve no purpose. It's just another example of the man keeping us down.

Cut out just enough for the trinket and you can have the chip exposed and spreader on. Winner Winner Chicken Diner.

keep it on!! it adds strength, and used as a heat spreader hence why they used thermal compound. it also helps with airflow.. and im guessing as a emi shield, If someone thinks they don't need it your as thick as the thermal compound applied.

Or ignore what were all telling you, play long sessions in dock mode and let you case melt MAYBE

it is safe to remove
you dont know what youre talking about

a lot of people remove theirs with no issues so far

Thx for the kind words but the metal cover does serve a purpose and it's likely that it acts as a heat spreader. It may not hurt the Switch right away but temperatures may start increasing and eventually affect the performance or longevity of the Switch. That's my take on it

Yeah but it's 3 times the price compared to Wish and you have to order Console shell and Joycons shells separately (which makes the price go up to 47$).
Also, in the Wish kit there are replacement screws with Philips heads in case you ruin the original Tri-Wing ones.
In the end, I'm pretty sure they both come from the same chinese factory ^^
no, not really, Price: $40.99 with full set
and this is the new version with dpad
i don't have faith in Wish, have you tried buying this shell from them?

Avoid wish please there garbage and a damn con
What are you talking about...
I've bought more than a hundred items on Wish without a single problem.
You just have to read the description and comments carefully.
That is no more garbage than what you buy on Amazon for double the price, in the end everything comes from China...

I was just wondering if it was safe to remove the metal shielding on the back of the switch and to keep it off, as I have a transparent switch shell and I think it would be cooler to see the inside instead of just a metal back?
Like this example

Congratulations. You void the warranty. :) By the way, cool looking uncovered Switch.
