Hello! I have been modding Tales of Phantasia for a few weeks now, and have figured out how to change warps to alternate warps, however I am trying to figure out how to find the X and Y location on the map that the warps are actually located.
For example, here are two warps in the game -

Warp 1:
02 00 81 00 D3 05 00 00
Warp 2:
02 00 82 00 E0 05 00 00

And here are a few NPC's

NPC 1:
00 00 08 00 39 07 00 00
NPC 2:
00 00 09 00 52 07 00 00

Swapping the data from the location that Warp 1 is and the data from the location that NPC 1 is will result in you warping when talking to the NPC.

The interesting thing is that NPCs also have a second set of data that they point to which holds their sprite, X and Y values, and a few other things (Bold values are their X and Y data) -

NPC 1:
C0 08 C8 B0 01 C8 90 00 D9 C0 24 D8 D8 35 80 01
NPC 2:
C0 09 C8 40 01 C0 78 DA C0 3B D8 D8 35 80 01

I can't seem to find the same secondary data for the warps themselves, and I don't honestly really know how I got to the secondary data for NPC, I think it was blind luck randomly changing values in an area that looked important.

Any ideas on how I can go about finding the secondary data values for the warps? My notes on the game's events are listed in the Events tab in this document:

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
