harmor said:Why can't you code it in such a way that it looks for the latest version?
If you can't do that then why not have it connect to your site (if you have one), retrieve the information about the latest Shop Channel then have WiiSCU proceed to download a new version of the Shop Channel from NUS?
That's what previous versions did (checked for latest, in theory), but apparently that doesn't always work, which is why dop-SHOP was made. And I don't have the coding ability to make it connect to my site, check latest version and download it. Sorry.
QUOTE(bjorno @ Jun 22 2010, 03:13 PM) Is it possible to play with Ninty and edit the 4.3 update, so people lower than 4.3 can make profit by using a custom firmware updater?
like this?
Firmware: 4.3 CUSTOM
*prevents deletion of Twilight Hack
*prevents deletion of bannerbomb
*Prevents deletion of bootmii as ios
*Prevents IOS 70 to be stubbed
*prevents deletion of DVDX (any titles)
*prevents deletion of HBC (any titles JODI, HAXX etc etc)
*Remove error 004
*prevents deletion exploit of HackMii Installer Userland+Syscall IOS
*ES_AddTitleFinish (edit so TBR will work)
*NANDFS privilege Enable
If that could be done, it would be a nice firmware.
until some dumb child comes in with a game with update 4.3 puts it in your wii clicks update and BAMMM! you just lost a softmod...metroid4life14 said:I'm still on 4.1U... I'm staying on 4.1U

Already posted, and I can already say that it will be useless, IMO. UNLESS Wanin patches the Systemmenu kinda like Startpatch, and removes the checks, (which I hightly doubt, he never did that before) you can do the same thing with DOP-Mii (once it's updated) or NUSD which his "great" Updater will do. And probably much safer, Wanin bricked some Wiis with his Updater...jurai said:maybe someone else already posted this, but oh well

by the time a disc has 4.3, it will be long "defeated" and anything will work fine.
WiiBricker said:What is the 004 Error all about? Does it prevent the launching of homebrew apps?
I believe this appears when the Wii starts if bannerbomb is on the SD card. AFAIK, its a "feature" of IOS80, so patching System Menu to use IOS70 or IOS60 instead should prevent it. Although if you are patching System Menu, you're most likely doing it before upgrade, so won't need to use bannerbomb after upgrade. Not that the upgrade has any point to it, but if you really wanted to have it...
