I am trying to see if this works and have managed to extract the CIC 6106.bin file from Yoshi Story using the instructions in the tutorial. However, i cannot insert it into Perfect Dark. Errors include:

The tutorial on the first page says that you are to type out the following in the command prompt window

n64cicc.exe -FPerfectDark.z64 -C6106

But this only leads to the following errors:

-F : File Not Found []
6106/C6106/CIC6106/6106CIC is an invalid parameter

When I extracted the Boot File from Yoshi Story...it came out as 6106CIC and yet no matter what that file in called, the invalid parameter error always occurs.
I can't go any further in my attempts to test this without additional help or some sort of clarification of the instructions.

Refer to my previous post about the error about your -C6106 switch, and also, your Perfect Dark rom probably isn't named PerfectDark.z64 which would give you the file not found error..

I extracted and got a 6106CIC.bin file instead of CIC6106.bin :\

But I got a Yoshis Story wad finally and I'm going to see.

And yeah, the command for the second program in insert is:

n64cicc.exe -F[filename] -CIC6106

You might have to rename it though, I hope that doesn't mess it up
You know, I got 6106CIC, so I changed it to CIC6106

Is there another injector program that allows larger roms to be injected into smaller wads? I thought that was the rule with all this stuff, but I've been out of the loop so.. I'm using AutoInjectUWad v3, and it gives me a size error.. Maybe someone could get me privy to the new shit?

Didn't work with Goldeneye 007 for me, injected with the CIC6106.bin and then into Yoshi's Story, same problem, freezes at the "You will need a Classic Controller" screen.

Going to try Perfect Dark now.

Well either the dude's an idiot or a liar, or I'm the idiot. Using his same logic, you should be able to inject to Zelda Ocarina, and well, it doesn't work. It just freezes at the Classic Controller screen, as mentioned above with alex's attempt with 007 and Yoshi's Story. I used Zelda because Yoshi's Story's rom isn't big enough to inject to.

Tichinde925: Thanks.

But still I don't think it's going to work.. I think this guy just found this info about this dude's tool he made for his backup unit and got a hard on. I'll give it one last shot though with "New VC Injector" for fun I guess.

I'll wait for a few more reports and if they all prove that this is BS I'll close the thread.

I would try the new WAD injector, but I don't like CMD too much, and the instructions are too vague for me.

But I say it won't work, prove me wrong though, hopefully.

Hadrian, go ahead and close it. Waste of time for everyone.

I tried the New Wad Injector, and got the same freeze on Classic Controller screen.

Sucks, I wanted it to work.

Will have this tested shortly.

PAL guy tried - not working
NTSC guy tried - not working
Running edited PD.z64 in Project64 - error: In a permanent loop that cannot be exited. Emulation will now stop. Verify ROM and ROM settings.

Before anyone goes wild with installing these edited ROMs, can anyone even create a ROM that run in an emulator without that error?
