Gaming Question about Wii Play

Is Wii Play going to be release over in the North America side?
I been reading and I only found out that they will be releasing
only in Japan and UK so far.

There hasn't been any word yet.

It's really strange though that you guys aren't getting it. The games are a lot of fun and with a free Wiimote you can't go wrong. I don't understand why America is the only region not to get it.
