Hacking [Question] Any way to change the language of a NDS game on a jap New 3DS ?

Hello guys,
There is a question I have been searching the answer for a little while now.

I have a Jap New 3DS with emunand gateway and NTR CFW installed on it.
It is perfect for me to play any of my EU games in french or JAP games with some undubbed/translation patches.

But when I try to play my original EU NDS games (I still have a lot), since my New 3ds doesn't have the french language included, I can play them only in English, or even worse, some of them switch in Japanese even through they are EU games.

I also have an old DSTwo for cheats, patches and real time saves, but only few games have some cheat code to force the language of the game.

Is there any way to patch a file in the emunand or in my original NDS backups to force the default language to french ?

all i can think of to solve that, is changing your emunand region to US/EU.

If you are on NTR I believe there is a plugin for you to change the default language for games like that(https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-language-emulation-plugin-for-ntr-1-0-2-2.386543/), or you can just region change(and lose access to eshop).

AuReiNand has the capability to force a game to use a specific language (assuming the game supports said language).

Scroll down to Enable Region/Language Emulation in the documentation here for details on how to do it. It's on a game-by-game basis.

You can also region-change the NAND itself which would let you set the language to what you want it to be. That's a lot more complicated (and doesn't allow eShop access, generally) but is an option.

Gateway has support for default language if you use their card menu and press up but I think is for 3ds games because nds games doesn't work on emunand

The Aureinand language pack is for 3ds games not old ds games like the op wants to use.

Indeed it seems like my only solution is to change my emunand region.

I was wondering, is there a way to do multi emunand, to keep one normal and one with eu region?

Also, there are different thread concerning the region changing for emunand, do you know which is the best method so far? (I don't really mind losing eshop access)
If I change the region of the emunand, will it still work with my gateway?

Another question, the DS cards only work in gateway classic mode right?
But is the region changing process working in classic mode?

Just for information, my JAP New 3DS is on 9.5 (downgraded from 9.7), with both the cubic ninja and themehax entrypoints.
I also have an old 3DS in 9.2 I can use to get its SecureInfo_A if needed.

You can just use another microsd cards for your new region changed emunand. I think gateway will work just fine.

Thanks, indeed I have been searching for some info and it seems I can't get the dual nand working in gateway. I guess using two microsd should work well

Hello guys !
I have been successfully changing my emunand region from JAP to EUR.
But sadly now the DS games seem to crash on startup when I try to launch them from gateway classic mode (black screen)...
I saw that some people where modifying the emunand files for DS cards, but can't find any relevant information on it.
Do you know any way to correct the problem ? Installing a special cia file maybe ?

By the way it's old news, but for people interested there are some universal cheat codes that can be used to force the game language whatever your DS/DSi/3DS language is, you can find it in my post here:

Of course it works only on DS games, but for 3DS games you can use the locale files
