[Release] HiyaCFW - World's FIRST Nintendo DSi CFW!

Here it is, the first DSi CFW!
logo.png

Video by Alex S (with TWiLight Menu++ (previously known as DSiMenu++ and SRLoader) installed):

Video by @Apache Thunder (When RocketLauncher was planned for a release. With WarioWare Touched (DSiWare version) installed.):

(NOTE: Since hiyaCFW has been released a few days ago (as of posting this), and no official thread has been made, I decided to go and make it, despite not making the actual patches for it. :P )

With this CFW, you can run custom DSiWare, alongside region free and 3DS-exclusive DSiWare (WarioWare Touched), on your SD card, via NAND to SD redirection!
You can also run blocked flashcards (such as R4 Ultra).

FAQs

Q: Can I use a custom splash for hiyaCFW?
A: Yes you can. Place it at "sd:/hiya/" and name them "splashtop.bmp" and "splashbottom.bmp". Make sure they're actually saved as .bmp files, with the size of 256x192, with no color space info, and is 16-bit (A1 R5 G5 B5, or X1 R5 G5 B5). .gif files will also work instead of .bmp files.

Hi guys, so I have a question: I have my dsi xl cfw with twilight menu++ and unlaunch? I play all my ds games and gb/gbc games with no issues (from twilight menu). But I would like to install some dsiware roms in it. Do I need hiya? Thanks.
No, only Unlaunch is required to run DSiWare ROMs.

Great. Is there a way you can guide me on this? I checked online but all I see is related to hiya. Thanks
Also, do you recommend to install hiya at all? Or is it not necessary?
Hiya isn't necessary now. Just launch the .nds file of the DSiWare. To get the DSiWare, see the first post in the TWLMenu++ thread.

Mariokart DS freezes when opening Nintendo WFC.

- Opening Nintendo WFC for the first time runs fine and doesn't freeze when asked about nickname etc...
- Opening the Nintendo WFC again would result in a black screen and the audio freezes.
- I haven't encountered this issue with TWiLight Menu.

v1.4.0: Hacktober (2020) release

To update, just replace `hiya.dsi` on the SD root, with the one from the 7z file, in `for SDNAND SD card`.

What's new?
  • (@Pk11) Automatic dummy file creation has been added, so goodbye stock error screen!
    • NOTE: If it's still shown for you, then the SDNAND contents are probably corrupt.
  • (@Pk11) Added animated GIF splash support.
  • (@Pk11) Added RGB565 BMP support.
  • A lockout message will now show, when launching on DS consoles or in DS mode.

Hello.:)

Hello.:)

On the DSi XL with Unlaunch and a regular 16 GB SD Card (Used Space is a little more than 2 GB)
I get the Error 1-2435-8325 when I set Unlaunch v1.8 to run HiyaCFW.:(

Is this still related to this ?
https://gbatemp.net/threads/error-1-2435-8325.550656/

So I have to make a new Install ?

Thank you.:)
Probably.

A new Setup with HiyaCFW Helper fixed it.
The new Version from HiyaCFW is booting (very fast must I say....)clap.gif

Thank you.:)

Format your SD card using GUITool to have a 32KB cluster size.
Need a guide? https://dsi.cfw.guide/sd-card-setup

Hey, I have an issue that's been around in my 2019 R4 DS Flash Card (which I use for my DS lite) since sometime late in summer of 2020. It will boot up fine and go to the game selection screen, but no matter what game on the flash cart I select to play, I get either a black or pale white screen.

That's not a hiyaCFW issue.

RG Cube is going to be good for ps2 if it's $100

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example

And I also have my ps3

Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"

If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
