We all know there's absolutely zero chance of Trump keeping his mouth shut. What we need to hope for is that the judge will actually follow through.

I think going to jail is what he wants - and yet, he can't be allowed to be unchecked.
Watching Trump spin every consequence into more attention is really frustrating. He's completely incapable of ever admitting any wrongdoing.
Actual prison time is unlikely, since Judge Merchan specified that it would only be imposed "if necessary and appropriate". Trump has gotten very good at walking the line without crossing it, and I wouldn't be surprised if he only bashes the jury enough to impose more fines without giving the judge a good reason to jail him.
Trump has put the judge in a very difficult position. Merchan has to stay very close to the lawbook, lest he give Trump more fuel for his undying persecution complex.

As a moderate, don't you guys see all these cases just happen to be occurring right before election?

Don't you think it's a little strange they didn't happen sooner, it's not like any of this stuff is new

Anyhow, if they jail him it will only make average Joes see the political maneuverings more easily - stupid decision

Nope. Don't think it's a little strange whatsoever and these cases have not just started before election. That's not accurate in the slightest. What I do find strange is a supposedly innocent man constantly asking for delays to the hearings that would prove his supposed innocence. You forgot about that part, eh?

I'm so tired of this orange prick getting off with just being fined. Lock his ass up already, and tell his secret service detail to fuck off.
Let's make prison great again. :rofl2:

I don't know about the U.K., but the prison system here has them all privatized, so if they don't want the secret service around, the prison could tell them to piss off and I'd love to see that get ugly.

All by his own choice. His favorite tactic has always been to delay legal proceedings against him long enough that pressure builds for them to be dismissed. If US democracy even survives this ordeal, justice system reform must be first on the agenda, no amount of wealth should sideline accountability for blatant criminality and corruption.

At least in Arizona, it looks like it was only brought up now, because they weren't elected yet to do so. That said, should some of these cases have been done faster? Most likely yes. Does that mean now these cases shouldn't be done now? Of course not.
