Hello all, I am having a very unique problem with my wii.
I searched hi and low for anybody that might have this problem but did not find anything related.
So yesterday I was installing some channels to my wii using wad manager, everything went ok.
After installation I rebooted wii as instructed.
When the system menu came up, it said wii system memory full --> naturally I went to my data management to free up some blocks.
Here's where my problem started.
I decided to delete the internet channel b/c it takes up alot of room.
During deletion, however, it never completed the process. It was stuck on erasing for over 45 minutes and no luck.
I got tired of waiting that long so i decided to turn it off (holding the power button for 5 secs method).
Again i get the wii memory full message. I then try to go back into my data management and I get a blank white screen with the tabs on top and back button on bottom. None of my channels or wii data came up, nor was I able to press any of the buttons on the screen using my wiimote (i was able to manuever the hand around).
I hit the home button and select Return to system menu. The screen goes black and nothing ever happens after that.
I tried unplugging for 30 minutes and plugging back in and even tried maintenance mode but still got that message. The wii was giving me no options so after countless hours of searching for a solution online (here and other forums), I decide to format my system memory.
I did this hoping it would solve everything but further problems came. I performed the format wii system memory; it took forever so i left it going overnight. I wake up and its still doing the format. I thought that it was ridiculous and i just turn off and on again.
My space was freed up, I could even play my regular wii games again, I thought i was good.
I tried accessing my wii data management like before but again, a white screen with options that cant be selected for some reason.
It wasnt too important to me anyway.
I put the hackmii installer into my SD card to get the homebrew again that i had lost in the formatting.
When I access the SD card menu, it just stays stuck on "loading from SD card" forever with the little blue boxes moving around.
(Note, i've hacked all my friends wiis in these last couple of months)
I take the SD card out and try it on 2 of my friend's wiis and it goes straight into the bannerbomb installation like it should.
I'm at a loss at this point with no idea what to do. I could no longer play backups, install anything thru SD card, manage my save data/channels.
This looks like some kind of data corruption in the filesystem.
I've tried formatting system memory time and time again but it always stays stuck in the process forever.
I could still access my system settings, play original games tho. I'm not sure if this is considered a semi-brick.
If anybody can somehow identify this issue and help me with a possible solution, that would be great.
Wii system menu 4.2 USA
The only thing I havent considered is getting a new game like the New super mario bros and have it update the wii to 4.3 but then I still wont be able to do homebrew or play backups.
I can post videos showing what happens if it makes it easier to understand.
