Well i got one hypothesis

Code:
If Gamecard=m3i zero and acekard2i and r4i and etc flashcards
text()"an error has occured. Please hold the power button to turn off dsi.(the error message for v 1.4)

Other than that, what do you gbatempers think?

Doubt it. It probably has to do with a new check v1.4 implements, but it's not as simple as that. Those carts initally used a save game exploit, and to do that you have to closely mimic the game that's being exploited. I guess Nintendo found what was different and fixed that.

Hmm lol i guess it would be alot more complicated then that but yea. Btw what is the save game exploit method that the flashcards use that you were talking about?

EDIT:I also wonder how the bootstrap upgradable cards such as scds1i and m3i0 will be able to bypass this v 1.4 check. Anyone got any ideas on this?

If they were blocking it by name then all the flashcart makers would need to do is let you name your own cart. This would mean there would be no known name for Nintendo to match and ( even more cool ) a personalised cart name... I would love the idea of a personalised cart name anyway even if it didnt fix the problem......

Though they might be able to figure out what is hidden beneath the name? Anyway I would name my cart "carty"

lol yea like, "SUPER UBER flashcard" as the name =) that would be great if m3 team made a program that let you name your cart your own name and it saves it into a new F_CORE.dat file you can use to flash the card with for the new name

Well, for those with an updateable bootloader, you may be able to download the new bootloader, hex edit it, finding the name in it, and change it, then flash it. that may let you name it.

Why stop at names? Try customising the icon

Should probably be possible, there is a tool which will show you the hex of an image, so find the regular icon, convert it with that tool, then, find that in the bootloader. Then make an icon, convert it, and replace the old one with it.

EDIT: Are there any bootloaders out there that can be downloaded, with software to flash them onto cards?
