@gravitycoil828 also note the swf linked I originally got online then modified it slightly, then shared it with mrt
tried loading it with riitube unsuccessfully
https://rc24.xyz/services/riitube.html
https://github.com/NewGBAXL/NewGBAXL.github.io/blob/main/liinback/server/leanbacklite_v3_RiiTube.swf
Beside the Wii locking (which is probably a memory problem, or the file refuses to download?) the YouTube Channels refuse to load and it just.. goes.
I am not sure now where to go. Closest bet is using YouTube's API which might not work because of the fact you need to enter a key (I think)?, or just try and change the RiiTube address (maybe.) Otherwise contact YouTube on how to embed YouTube content (e.g. channels, thumbnails, videos, all of that) into a Shockwave Flash file.

Future me here, you are sorta right about RiiTube. Doesnt work. Try use the other options ^^^

Also a few bugs with the file itself, not RiiTube.
1. Why is the back button on home page?
2. With search there is for some reason a HD option.

Also.. quickly incase it attempts to render in 720p or higher just go and attempt to limit the file's settings to 480p max.

Hoped I helped.

Ill just explain whats going on.
So basicially WiiLink put the YouTube app on halt (the one you mentioned, for wii) And what I am doing is trying to fix it.
BUT, we need to access the file and change some stuff AND for the channel we need to redirect the download link thing.
Thats all.

  • The document has been updated to reflect the fact that YouTube <object> embeds, the YouTube Flash Player API and the YouTube JavaScript Player API have all been deprecated as of January 27, 2015. A deprecation warning appears in several sections of this document to help point readers to the IFrame Player API as an alternative.
Source (Google dev docs)

YouTube is nowadays HTML5 only - in addition Flash has been officially obsoleted by Adobe from 2020 onwards.

The only thing I hate about using WiiMC to watch YouTube is when my Wii crashes sometimes when the video is playing at some point. Not the DSI occurance though, but my Wii freezes.

Oh ok then good point.
But how are we supposed to get the YouTube channel to launch it?
Oh yeah and also.. https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/getting-started might help with this. Was looking at the IFrame website and found that.

Im just in fear of a DSI error. One moment I am listening to some music and the next second I hear a grinder.
Worst part is that its at random.

I never liked the YouTube app on the Wii. It crashed more often than it was useable, and that was even while using Ethernet. Just let Youtube stay dead on the Wii, and focus on making (or modding) a Wii internet browser that can play youtube vids instead. Ad-free preferred, but we'll take what we can get.

I dont think that would work..
Again though I dont really think due to all the Web Elements of the YouTube website.

It worked back in the Wii days while games were still coming out, so I'm sure someone can get it working again.

This leanback is not the same, there's another leanback which is called "leanbacklite_wii.swf" which was in this original url that can be found in the common.pcf in the "config" folder in the 02.app U8 archive from the YouTube channel.

You sure? https://www.mediafire.com/file/s45myjcw987g6rr/leanbacklite_v3.swf/file
Also there was a dedicated app for Youtube on Wii. It downloaded this I believe.

By the way, this is where it's Wii's leanback lite is located at: http://horcrux.sbo.corp.google.com/...x.sbo.corp.google.com/wii/vast_ads_module.swf

and I hate to say this, but this link has been dead ages ago.

Unfortunately, it has errors when trying to sign in, you can't pair your device, search results don't work. Proof that the SWF runs on Wii:

I used the Kirby TV Channel for the SWF leanbacklite inject.
