I want to give Switch emulation another try. I already did backups of all of my Switch games with NXDumpTool, I dumped my Switch keys using Lockpick, but I can't dump my digital content (game updates, DLC and the few digital games I own). Every time I try dump any digital content, I get this message:

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Cheers

What's your firmware version, and what version of lockpick did you use? If you look in your prod.keys file, do you see the "header_key_source"? It's on line 19 in my latest sd card backup.

But also, "
  • Nintendo Submission Package (NSP) dumps for both digital and gamecard-based titles."
doesn't have a green check mark next to it, like the other things... so I can't be sure if it works in the rewrite yet. I haven't purchased a new eshop title in forever to even try myself. I will always prefer physical copies when at all possible.

My suggestion for a workaround (assuming you actually have the correct keys), is very time consuming, because you obviously want to use OFW, or at the very least, stock, when getting stuff from the eshop, and under no circumstances should you attempt to use tinfoil on your sys emmc. But... you can backup your current emummc onto PC, then create a new emummc, so that the newly downloaded content will be present on the emummc. Then use tinfoil to dump it. DBI can possibly dump it as well, but I am inexperienced with DBI.

Anyway, after the dump is done, you can restore the emummc that you backed up.

Switch Firmware: 18.0.1
Lockpick version: 1.9.12 (according to https://wiidatabase.de/switch-downloads/switch-tools/lockpick-rcm/)

Please delete the attachment. You must not post keys here. I was just asking if that key was present. Looks to me like that feature isn't fixed yet in nxdumptool. As I said, try with DBI or backup your current emummc, make a new one, then use tinfoil while in emummc to dump the nsp.

Too complicated and too much work just for the curiosity.

Thanks anyway.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

    @Psionic Roshambo, Yeah, BonziBuddy was both spyware and ad-ware. It collected children's personal information without consent as well as display fake Windows popups.
