You mean this happens while running a DS game in nds-bootstrap? (that's TWLMenu++ DS(i) ROM loading backend, btw)

Either way, idk why this happens.

v22.0.0

Includes nds-bootstrap v0.48.0

What's new?
  • DSiWarehax users can now set a DSi-Exclusive/DSiWare title as a donor ROM, in order to launch a DSi-Enhanced game in DSi mode!
  • CycloDS iEvolution users can now set a DSi-Enhanced game as a donor ROM, in order to launch a DSi-Exclusive/DSiWare game!
    • If you've already set a DSi-Enhanced game as a donor ROM in the past, you do not need to do so again, unless if the donor ROM got renamed, moved, or deleted.
  • The full title ID (ex. NTR-ASME-USA) is now shown in the per-game settings!
    • For SDK5 games, the `(TWLSDK)` text has been removed to avoid clutter.
  • With nds-bootstrap now being able to boot DSiWare while in DSiWarehax, a message will no longer be shown when trying to launch a DSiWare title.
    • If you're using Memory Pit, a message will be shown, if a title is known to not work with it.
  • The AP-fix for Last Window: Secret of Cape West by RetroGameFan has been replaced with the version by SUXXORS.
  • Intellivision has been added to TWLMenu++ Virtual Console, with @wavemotion's Nintellivision emulator!
    • Supported ROM filetype is .int.
    • The console icon now appears in the TWLMenu++ Splash Screen.
  • `SWI Halt hook` has been added to TWLMenu++ Settings!
  • Some setting descriptions in the `Games/Apps settings` page have been updated!
  • The console selection screen has been entirely removed, as a new way to detect 3DS/2DS consoles has been implemented.
  • (@lifehackerhansol) M3 DS Real can now use YSMenu as flashcart loader.
  • (@lifehackerhansol) Autoboot is now supported for r4ids.cn carts.
Improvements
  • (@lifehackerhansol) Overhauled R4i Gold and R4iDSN related flashcart loaders.
  • (@lifehackerhansol) Improved R4 Ultra autoboot file to not require extra `_MENU_?.nds` files.
  • The no-DSP build of GBARunner2 is now only used in Memory Pit.
  • DSi, 3DS, Saturn, HBL themes, and DS Classic Menu: Launch speeds have been slightly improved!
  • (@Pk11 and various) Updated translations.
  • Other minor improvements.
Bug fixes
  • TWLMenu++ will now start on CycloDS iEvolution in DSi mode again!
  • Fixed DSi splash auto-skipping.
    • Auto-skipping is now a configurable setting.
  • Fixed R4/GBC theme loading language before settings.
    • This fixes nds-bootstrap's in-game menu only showing Japanese.
  • Other minor fixes.
Known bug
  • The `(TWLSDK)` text for SDK5 games has not been removed outside of the English language.

This is really impressive! It works really well and it's definitely one of the most promising project I've seen in a while. So glad to see dsi's striking back on the scene!

Gonna report just a few issues encountered with some games:

- Harvest Moon DS can't get past white screens;
- Radiant Historia is playable but loads with tons of glitches.

I'm confident about future updates and fixes anyway. Keep up the good work! :)

P.s. just my two cents on how to properly format the SD card: in order to get the most pleasant experience with TWiLight Menu++, you just might want to use a 2GB card formatted in FAT (not FAT32) and select 32KB as allocation space. These settings will also drastically reduce the amount of time needed to launch your backups.

_EDIT: typo (forgot to put the final " t " on Radiant Historia.
I can't run Harvest Moon DS and Harvest Moon DS Cute too :(
The World Ends With You and 2 of the Fire Emblem games for the DS works. I seriously wanted to play Harvest Moon DS, it was my childhood game I played on my cousin's DS lite

Try turning off card read DMA and/or asynch card read in the per-game settings (opened by pressing Y in the ROM menu).

EDIT: Both ROMs boot on my side. Make sure you've updated to v22.0.0, and that your ROMs aren't corrupt.

I can confirm that this works as expected - no problems launching Intellivision games.

I believe I'm now responsible for half of the Virtual Console support in TWL++ -- goes to show you what 300 (approx) hours of design and development will get you :)

I'm having trouble calculating my royalty check correctly... it's number of users X cost per user and I keep coming up with $0. That can't be right?! :D

Should i reinstall twilight menu if i have issues with games freezing or not loading after updating to v22.0.0?
Nope. Those issues are usually fixed by disabling card read DMA and/or asynch card read.
If it's an SDK2 game though, then you might need to wait for a fix, as the new nds-bootstrap update might've broke a few of them.

I'll try doing it tomorrow. Thank you for responding so fast. When I press Y, I just see Language, Run In, ARM9 CPY Speed, VRAM boost, and Bootstrap so I probably don't have v22.0.0. I have 2 Twilight Menu++ for some reason. FBI says one is version 2065 (2.1.1). The other doesn't say the version

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
