PCI-e x4 requires 4 pairs of data lines for both directions plus a pair for the clock at minimum. So that is at least 18 wires.

All of the power ones can be derived elsewhere, the detection, SM and JTAG pins I am unsure of.

Again I’m not very well versed in hardware at this level. So I’m not sure if this was mentioned in messages and I just inadvertently left it out because I’m an idiot.

How big would these types of wires be? Like would the be similar in circumference if a Xbox 360 mod chip wire? 18 wires is… a lot.

They could be very thin, just signal wires.

I just wanted to do a “bump” so to speak and let everyone know what has transpired within the last week, I’ve spoken to both CTCaer and SciresM myself about this issue and both have different and interesting reply’s ones the matter. As soon as I have the time to do a long write up on everything that has happened I will do so.

Any updates on this?
A good friend of mine who does board level repair and cellphone repairs has been tinkering with the Switch for a few years and would be interested in doing a project like this if it's possible.

There is nothing to comment on as of today, but things are still moving along. I want to be very careful with the presentation of this.

I will keep trying, but that clicking sound seems like the moving parts are stuck or something

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
