Hello,
I joined a bit late to the party, I just bought my first PSVita to replace my switch as Moonlight device.
I have a DIY cloud server at home and I am using it together with my switch to play, but despite the design I think the switch is too bothering to carry around. When I found that moonlight exists for the vita, I got one from Japan for 50€ and modded it.

The Vita's network performances are abysmal, the 3G network was killed in my country and the WiFi is very slow despite my 500mbps connection.

I've seen many posts from people asking if a 4G module can be crafted or if a new WiFi chip soldered, but general consensus is lack of software drivers.

Would it be possible to use a usb2to ethernet (and later maybe a phone with USB therhering) act as main internet? USB2 should be good for up to theoretical 420mbps, but anything above 12mbps is perfect for moonlight

Well, there's a plugin called vita-usb-ether and it allows you to have Ethernet through USB on retail Vitas but you need to make a dongle with specific hardware for it to work. Don't really know about the speed compared to Wi-Fi though... Here's a video of the dongle and plugin in action.

It's not the movies or games downloads that I would worry about, like breaking into networks, downloading encrypted things, spying on network traffic. I have seen so many "Top Secret" seals on files when I was a kid
