Haven't been able to find a true solution to my problem ...

I run all Wii games from USB Loader GX on a large SD card and I've created a few game forwarders using WiiGSC (Crap).

When I use these forwarders I'm greeted with the "Waiting for HDD / enable SD card mode" screen.

In USBLoaderGX settings, I have SD Card Mode set to "ON" ... as well, the regular channel forwarder for GX works fine and does not bring up the waiting screen

I've seen this same problem pop up every now and then but most are using a combination of SD card and USB drive.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Were you ever able to find a solution to this? Dealing with the same thing.

My problem wasn't exactly the same, but troubleshooting searches led me here so maybe I can provide a clue.
I have USBLoaderGX v3.0-r1281, and load all my GC/Wii games from a large SD card. Even though I had "SD Card Mode" ON and "Mount USB at launch" OFF in settings, I got the "Waiting for HDD" message every time. I don't have any custom forwarders, just the "USBLoaderGX_forwarder[UNEO]_Wii.wad" hosted on wiidev's github.

Turns out USBLoaderGX expects SD Mode to be specified as an argument at launch. It's kind of confusing to see it in the settings menu, because SD Card Mode isn't actually a setting stored in GXGlobal.cfg; the value is only "ON" because you pressed "A" during the "Waiting for HDD" period.

I had to edit sd:/apps/usbloader_gx/meta.xml so it would actually pass args to USBLoaderGX on startup, inserting the following lines between </release_date> and <ahb_access />:
<arguments> <arg>--mountusb=0</arg> <arg>--sdmode=1</arg> </arguments>

I'm guessing that WiiGSC doesn't pass those arguments to the loader, since the SD Card Mode feature is newer than the latest WiiGSC release. Looks like MyWiiShortcut (by DouglasMartins1999 on github) is more recent, maybe that can do what you want?

That Dell data breach is worse than people probably realize....

When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
