Hi, I'm having a hard time with my modded new Nintendo 3ds and it's microSD card. So I was just playing brain age using twilight menu, so when it asked me the date, I saw it was wrong, like it said it was 2011 (I don't remember day and month) so I changed it to the correct date.

When I tried to open the twilight menu, it just kept on a white screen forever, I tried it many times but nothing worked, so I checked online, and I saw a man saying that one possible solution was to reset my microsd card into fat 32 and set something called "cluster something" to 32 kilobytes so I did that, That's where the problem begins.

When I booted my 3ds, an error that said that It didn't recognize the microsd card appeared, but when I opened the storage settings it seemed like it recognized it but if it was empty, so the first thing I did was turn off the 3ds, remove the microsd and move the files to another microsd card (both are 64GB formatted as fat32) and when I booted my 3ds the same error appeared but when I opened the storage settings it didn't even recognize it!

I tried to use again the old microsd, but now seems like it's empty and whenever I try to put files on it, it just ejects itself form my laptop.

So basically I'm stuck with another microsd card, wich my 3ds doesn't recognize BUT actually GODMODE9 does.

When I hold start and then press power and boot into the godmode9 menu, it says that the date is wrong but it actually does recognize the microsd, wich gives me hopes.

So please if you know a possible solution please help me!

Edit: here's all the files of the microsd (some routes are in Spanish cus I'm actually from Venezuela so if you need me to translate something just let me know).

+ A photo of the error that pops up when I boot the 3ds or exit the system settings (wich says that the 3ds couldn't recognize the microsd and programs in it can't be shown).

+Photos of how storage settings doesn't recognize the microsd but GODMODE9 does (in storage settings it just says it couldn't recognize the microsd card).

Also I dunno if it helps but the original microsd card (wich the 3ds settings recognized as an empty one) whenever I try to put a file on it, it just ejects itself, but the one I'm using right now doesn't have that problem (I can put files on it if I want to) but the 3ds settings does not recognize it.

Might be whatever card you were using then, if you tried formatting the card again and it still doesn't work, then you need a new card then.
Damn, thanks anyways 👍

But if there's by any chance a way the microsd that I can't put any files on can be reused, I'm willing to try, even the 3ds recognizes it

Based on translation it stated the following below, so it just seem it might be the card.

MicroSD card has not been detected. Cannot display programs located on the MicroSD card
The only thing is that the microsd that the storage settings can detect, just doesn't let me put any files on it, but the fact that the 3ds recognizes it gives me hope

No, it recognizes it but when I try to put a file on it it's like it disappears

The card is dying so probably no use to you so regardless you need a new card if you put a file on it and when you eject and reinsert the SD card into the computer and it disappear then the card is no good.

I created a text document on it, ejected it and in fact, it disappeared, guess I need to get another microsd card or else I'm cooked...

Thanks you so much anyways, hope you have a great day/night.

Also, do you know a way to uninstall 3ds games directly From the PC? so I can use a 32gb one, cause i have 38gb of games on it so if maybe I could delete some of them I could use the 32gb microsd that I have so I wouldn't have to buy a 64gb one

Probably an annoying question but how many SD cards have you tried to use with the 3DS? You mentioned 2 and if this were a science experiment 2 is a very small amount to declare the 3DS doesn't read SD cards anymore.
And another annoying question - what brand are the microsd cards? Is it possible they're knockoffs and they're dying? If you got them inexpensively on a third-party seller online marketplace then there's the potential for the cards to be knockoffs even if they're name brand. Inexpensive no-name cards are notorious for short lifespans. These are things to consider!

One final thing is, I assume you used the program guiformat.exe to format the SD card into FAT32 with the 32kb cluster size. The guiformat.exe is the program people say will format your sd cards properly for visibility on consoles. If you get a new card, because likely that's the only option for you going forward, be sure to use guiformat.exe to format it. Also there's a program called h2test.exe which can test the card (using a "write+verify" method to write data to every spot on the card and then test each spot for corruption) though it will take awhile.

Hi, it in fact was a problem with the two 64GB SD cards, they both were a little old (one over 7 years old and the other over 10 years old) so I guess probably their moment arrived.

The one that is 7 years old is still alive, but it is slowing down so I'll just use it to store my roms for my modded Wii.

I already moved to a 32Gb SD card so I really didn't need to format it, but in few days when I get another 64 or 128Gb SD card I'll make sure to have that in mind.

Thanks for the info, let's hope I don't run into another problem so I won't have to annoy you again 🫂
