Hacking Error 002 on REAL Super Mario Galaxy 2 disc?

So did any PAL Wii user with a Wiikey 1 get his imported SMG2 to run from disc channel? If yes, I'd be very much interested in a guide

I downloaded all the latest IOS' through DOP-Ios but that didn't help, I'm still getting a blackscreen when trying to run it from the disc channel

Game is running fine under NeoGamma

I'm on 4.1E btw.

I use a wiikey 1 as well. You have to remember wiikey 1 was one of the first modchips out there, and they stopped making updates for it like 2 years ago I think? I've had the latest firmware for a long time. So, I think it's time to ditch it and go with softmodding, which is why I am going to softmod from here out. I am not going to take the chip out, though, unless it creates problems.

You said you have it working with neogamma? That's good then. I haven't even gotten that far.

i think the problem is not because of the wiikey, as smg2 does not have any protection from what i have read.
maybe it just doesn't work because it is ntsc and i'm trying to run it from an pal system menu?

it'd be nice if somebody knows more about this

They are both 2 different things. You can use both at the same time, and sometimes it's even advised to do so. Like if you want the protection from BootMii boot2, and also want system menu patches, like skip updates and region free.

I was under this impression too from reading the Complete Softmod guide. Looks like I will need to install Priiloader after all.

Alright. I have no experience with priiloader or any idea how to update IOS56. I've never tried because I don't want to brick. =(

Install the Homebrew Channel and run Dop-Mii to install IOS56. There's no risk in trying to install IOS56.

If you have Bootmii you can always make a NAND backup to be safe from any brick.
