I may use Multi-Mod Manager more, than WiiMod. But... I think, it should become a replacement for it. Seeming as it's not being worked on anymore and WiiMod has a lot more features.

I prefer what I have anyway, but it's handy to have something that's like "the swiss army knife of wii hacking"... just in case. ;)

still, there is no situation that would require tbr over ahbprot or cboot2 methods of resoring cios. TBR is never needed regardless of system menu version or exploit. Just saying that tbr is an unneeded outdated step adding extra time to the mod process.

AHBPROT and a cboot2 can't do everything a properly patched IOS36 can, plus nobody uses cboot2 since it requires replacing the bootmii folder (unless you have cboot252).

yah you're right... already this tested this many times...
i cant do everything with AHBPROT..
i like the process of xploiting then ios36 patching. then installation of "some" wads and "cios" (u know what i mean)...

I prefer a cIOS over AHBPROT, since a cIOS has proven far more reliable.
I do too, AHBPROT just seems to have quirky issues at times, but since SetAHBPROT it has become more useful and yet it also has seemed to bring more issues.
I consider AHBPROT a "cIOS lite", or as giantpune would probably call it, "pussyCIOS" "pussieCIOS" :D
More or less, it is just taking an IOS and patching it, but instead of saving it to the nand for reuse you recreate it on the fly after a reload IOS.
my only problem is the the TBR one click mode...
What problem? Did I miss a post somewhere?
So is there a problem in the TBR code, I don't think I have heard of one yet. But if there is let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Not to mention an AHBPROT patched IOS lacks essential modules for backup loading.

Thats because people who use AHBPROT are gods and people who use patched IOSes are dirty scumbag pirates.

Eh that's mostly just which base IOS is used and which patches are applied. Theoretically you could patch the d2x patches in on the fly, although I don't think anyone is doing that yet.

That is not what I meant, I am not saying not to install and use a patched ios36, you should use a patched ios36 (236) for everything. I just don't see a use for tbr anymore, downgrade ios15, patch ios36, etc. You should be able to load wiimod with AHBPROT on any wii and install your patched ios36 with the ios manager or wad manager.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
