I have a problem,
The new snes channels like 3.0 and 3.1 dont work for me
when i try to load a rom it always says something like corrupt; bad checksum
it goes by too fast for me to read it

but the old versions of snes9x befor 3.0 load roms fine???
Whats the problem!!!!!

i can tell you it is not the roms. i have the same problem. it all works just fine on version 2.5 but the newer channels like 3.1 you just get the color test screen of course with the bad checksum error. so far no one seems to know the problem. i have checked the roms, installed version 3.1 several times all with different channels nothing but then i switch back to version 2.5 everything works just fine. i have reformatted my sd card and nothing i even bought a new card and nothing. i just continue to use the 2.5 version for now.

Anybody know where to get Genesis Plus Project 5/30/08 in a wad and with the banner? and pls dont say inject it my self ive tried with no luck.........

Edit: Nevermind. Apparently you gotta load the rom, THEN go back to the main menu to do your thing. Odd how these things work these days

Repack the WAD and install. It'll replace the previous channel if it's installed."


Okay, so I downloaded some WadTools, Genplus.wad (old version), and the latest .DOL version of the GenPlus emulator.

I unpacked the wad, and got 3 files:

000.des
001.des
002.des


Now, do I just rename the ".DOL" to "001.des" and repack?

I tried doing exactly that and I get an error when I try installing it on my Wii.

That should do it. Maybe you aren't resigning the WAD.
What error do you get on screen?

" ERROR: Could not install WAD! (ret = -2011) " is the error message that is displayed on my TV when I tried installing it.

The tool I used was: Wad De/Encrypter v1.0 Beta

I understand on how to unpack a wad, but I just dont fully understand the meaning behind the: Title ID, Launcher File, and the Title Key on the screen.

Here I am just guessing on what exactly to put there:

LOL, that's a good one

Let's see, try using a completely new directory for it. Simply have the tools, and the orignal WAD file there.
If you drag the WAD over the WADUnpacker program, it'll unpack it in the "Documents and Settings/YOURNAME/WAD_ID_NUMBER" directory.

Then just follow the instructions in the WADPacker program after changing the DOL file, and don't forget to add the "-sign" at the end of the command line. That should do it

PD: Dno't think I treat you like you don't know anything about this, because you know enough. I just like to go through all the steps

I was able to use a different program but......it created a 4KB title.wad file....its obviously too small. I dont know whats wrong

I was able to obtain a common-key and got a title.wad

When itnstalling, it stops at the "s2" mark with the error: ret = -1022

Ok, the common-key.
When I formatted my PC, it took me weeks to remember where it has to be. I think to remember I simple placed it where the *.exe program is, with the name "common-key"(not "common-key.bin").

Okay, I was able to "do it" correctly, I am sure of it.

But, renaming "genplus_wii.dol" to "00000001.app" still results me in getting the error: (ret = -1022)

I know how to properly unpack and repack the wad, because I unpacked the original and then repacked it without changing it, and it installed perfectly.

I just cant seem to figure out how to update it with the new DOL version.

Any suggestions? Because I know I am doing everything else correctly.

Hmm, haven't really got time to be checking WADs, but something else has come to my mind: there is a tool named AutoInjectuWAD, which changes the DOL file automatically for you.

I guess it's on that page I previously told you about, and it's as easy to use as the other ones.

I got it!!!!

Finally, all I had to do was point and click and it was done!

No need to use CMD / MS-DOS.

AutoInjector is made of EPIC WIN! I can update all my emulators whenever I want now

EDIT: Ignore this question, I found a tool that converts DOL --> ELF and vice versa.

Just a quick and final question:

Does it have to be a DOL file? Can it not be an ELF file that becomes a 00001 APP file?

The ELF is a DOL file with some extra stuff(for debugging and disasembly or something like that).

There is a tool in devkitpro that makes a DOL out of a ELF file, but can't remember exactly which one it is
