I'm currently reading Kazantzakis' The Last Temptation of Christ

Interesting retelling of the christ narrative from a much more humanistic and raw point of view. For instance in the novel Jesus attempted to hide his fate as the messiah seeing all the prophets around him being executed by romans, and there is also a focus on his relationship with Mary Magdalene.

I'm only about 1/10th of the way through so unsure at this point how the rest of the book will be, but it's pretty gripping so far.

What are you guys reading/have read this year?

Would you recommend the book?

A Better Place; by Mark A Reoder

A Better Place is the story of two boys from two completely different worlds struggling to find themselves amongst a whirlwind of confusion. Will the strength they find in each other be enough to overcome the hatred and abuse of others? The unlikely pair struggle through friendship and heartbreaks, betrayal and hardships, to find the deepest desire of their hearts.

AncientBoi, I wonder if you enjoyed it?

I appreciate the effort put into this story, but personally, it hasn't fully captured my interest. I've started reading it, but it hasn't quite clicked with me. It's possible that my taste in literature differs, as I tend to enjoy books with deeper and more intricate plotlines. For example, 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before' by Jenny Han resonated with me more due to its relatable characters and engaging storyline. Of course, everyone's preferences are unique, and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another. It's wonderful how diverse our tastes can be, allowing each of us to find something special in different types of literature.

I recently read “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig. It’s a thought-provoking novel about second chances and the infinite possibilities of life. The protagonist, Nora Seed, explores different versions of her life in a magical library. The book beautifully delves into regrets, choices, and the pursuit of happiness.
