Hey after patching both Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass with the dpad patch the option to use their circle pad code won't show up anymore. How do I fix this?

Just discovered this amazing hack. Loved the gyro/c-nub combo in Metroid Prime Hunters ,but is it possible to enable gyro in other FPS games like Goldeneye?

Hi! I have been hoping for something like this for a long time, so this is really exciting! I am curious, is there a way for me to remap things myself?
Generally, no. But you can additionally remap/unmap some things with the remapper. And there is a version of the mod with more "remappable" actions.
Also, is there a way to get these cheats to work on a DS emulator on the steam deck? This would be way nicer than trying to brute force a solution in the steamOS button input editor.
No. Everything in this thread is strictly 3DS specific.

First of all I will like to thanks for this amazing patch!
I'm having issue with dragon ball origin 1, does the cheat code allow you to punch and kick using the abcd buttons instead of the touch screen or what does it do? I was able to make other cheat work but with this game in particular I can't.
It simply gives you 360 degrees movement. Everything else is still done via the touchscreen. Yes, it's only half useful, but I mostly do just the circle pad part, without remapping other actions which would be considerably harder

hellooo, it's me again XD Are you still doing requests? Cuz I was wondering if you are able to do a dual analog hack for Tak the Great Juju Challenge. You can control the camera with the touchscreen so I was wondering if this was possible. Thanks if you can
Okay. I'll check this out if I have time

This might sound like a dumb question, but how do I add the Star Fox Cpad Inverted mod with the previous DS circle pad mods? When I try to add it to my extras folder, it asks if I want to overwrite the previous cheats folder, since it has the same file name. I'm not sure if it will erase those cheats and just have the Star Fox mod on.
Open the original "usrcheat.dat" file in R4CCE and copy/paste the cheat code there. If you've never used this program before, there must be dozens of tutorials on Youtube and other places

Is there anyway to merge 2 usrcheat.dat? I want to combine deadskullzjr's cheats with the mods from here.
There are already merged cheat databases, like this one.
Also some time ago I had a web app that allowed you to merge these things but I am not entirely sure if it still works.

TwilightMenu determines which cheats to show and apply based on the rom's checksum. When you patch a rom, you change its internal structure and, accordingly, the checksum. To solve this problem, you need to open the cheat database file (usrcheat.dat) in R4CCE, find the game in the list and update its checksum. In R4CCE you can press the "..." button and point it to the location of the patched rom, then the program will populate the checksum field for you.

Glad that you liked it. I only did it for Metroid as a sort of proof of concept. While it's technically possible, I probably won't do it anymore as it's very time consuming and not exactly simple. Sorry

I have been having issues with some game's white screening and they don't load with the cheat enabled. Is it due to the Roms I am using? Any advice would be great, Thank you.

Same issue here. It seems like they are not being recognized as the those games which I need to figure out how to fix that.
Edit: Just did and it crashes.

I tried using the cpad cheat for spirit tracks but when I separate it from the dpad it just doesn't do anything, and when it is emulating the dpad it just moves in the 8 directions with no analog... any ideas on what to do would be helpful thanks.

I think you need another patch twilight patch without widescreen enabled. That's how I fixed the white screen for me. It is kinda buggy for me tho. For the first couple of games, I can switch between 4:3 and 16:10 perfectly but then afterward everything gets stuck in widescreen and then I have to repatch my Twilight menu so idk Ig

I don't think that is the issue because I have tried with and without widescreen enabled and the same issue, it does not load and is white screen. I thought it could be the ROMs because I had 2 games that did not work. Then again it never worked before and now does so I don't know. Some games work and some don't.

Hey, thanks for the advice. I changed the Checksum for both game's cheat codes and now phantom hourglass is working perfectly. The only problem is that after activating the code for spirit tracks the c-pad is disabled and only the dpad works. Do you know how I could fix this? Could it be the patch I'm using? I really have no idea lol

Weird. Maybe it's because of forwarders. Honestly, I don't understand how twilight menu and these circlepad codes work lol.

this is amazing work.
question for the developper, on Metroid Prime Hunter:

Is there a way to invert cstick in game while non inverting gyro?
or something equivalent, like a version of the patch with y axis inverted while gyro is not...?
sorry for pushing it, but my brain cannot function otherwise unfortunately:(

Silly question but can these patches be made for DS game to work on Wii U since DS games on Wii U would greatly benefit of both sticks!

I don't know how to help you. Are you sure you are using the correct versions of the game and the cpad mod?

can this work with citra or desume?

No, all I've done here can only work on the actual 3DS. I am not saying it's impossible, but I am not aware of anything else

What happens when you press L+R+Down? Have you tried it without the DPad patch?

Here is the inverted version
you sir are a god.
Testing it right now

EDIT: So I tested it and it works as intended, albeit it is based on the original MPH mod you did rather than the better updated one that use Dpad + A to activate gyro ( and have missiles and morph mode mapped as well).
I will try to reverse engineer your mod files to see how I can add cstick inversion to any game i want, as it is a recurrent problem i have.
I guess I should be able to do that by comparing your original file with the one you just gave me above

RE-EDIT: I managed to do it and reverse engineer your stuff.
youhouhou!!!

RE-RE-EDIT: So I indeed managed to combine all your file for MPH to get what I want ie inverted c-stick but not gyro + updated controls with buttons for missile and morph ball. However, I cannot find how to invert the c-stick for Moon, it does not seem to be encoded the same way as for MPH.... reverse-engineering meets its limits I guess 😒

Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.
