For..?[reports you to @Noctosphere ] [accidently of course]
The difficulty is definitely the barrier of entry to most people, even gamers, you simply have to understand how the combat mechanics works, and be swift and agile in that regard, as enemies are persistent, can be unpredictable and often gang up on you.. In those aspects you could say it's unforgiving, as one wrong move you could get 1HKO'd (or even 2 hits), losing your progress and that's not fun at all, and that's not why i play my videogames.. It's one of those games that i enjoy someone else playing (other than me) specially when they're knowledgeable about the game, from the combat to how to kill bosses without much damage etc.Dark Souls. Right. I don't know what it is about it that makes it worth playing. It seems more like a game made by hand. Especially the pc version.
It's more to express that traditional RPG market. In Japan it is extremely popular even more popular than FF. But basically the more FF adapted and changed the more DQ stayed the same. The 2 series compliment each other to an extent. You want a modern RPG? Go for FF. You want a traditional RPG? Play Dragon Quest.Dragon Quest.
For the life of me, they're boring, uninteresting, and kind of vapid JRPGs. I dunno if I'm just not willing to meet it on its own terms, or other JRPGs have spoiled me.
I do generally agree, but DQ9 hit different for reasons I can't even remember. Completely multiplayer JRPG on the DS though, been years since I've played it but I know I had a wildly good time. Definitely could be worth a shot if you want to give the series one more shot, especially if you have people you can play with.Dragon Quest.

Then you clearly haven't played enough games.I think one thing about this thread is that a lot of people state they hate things they have never really tried. More just hate due to people surrounding it or went into it expecting to dislike it and well that's just asking for it. Like there isn't a single game I haven't played that I can say I hate.
That goes against exactly what I said. The only games I hate are ones that I've played. Then you clearly haven't played enough games.
